I went back all the way to the 20th page and didn't see anyone who started a thread about movies. If there is one, just let this thread sink away into the abyss of thread history, but if not, this is something we can talk about. We've got one for every sport, music, and TV shows. So I figured might as well.

I watched A Most Wanted Man the other day. Very good movie. PSH was great (as usual). The supporting cast was also pretty good. If you like spy thrillers, it's a must see.

Anybody seen the Australian horror movies Wolf Creek 1&2? Watched both of them over the weekend. The guy who plays the killer in the movie (John Jarratt) is awesome in this role. I had never heard of any of the actors before watching this. Not familiar with alot off Australian actors, but he nailed the part in these movies.

They dropped the ball in the second one, though. Everything that made the first one good was dropped to turn it into one of the most predictable and pointless movies I have ever seen. Which is a shame, because I liked the first one.

Looks like DC blinked first, since it was originally set to go head-to-head with Captain America 3.

If you had told me five years ago that a Batman vs. Superman film would back off from a Captain America film, I'd have laughed in your face. Shows how formidable the MCU films really are.

I'm more of a Marvel fan than a DC fan, but I still like several story lines and characters from DC, especially those involving The Flash. I'd like them to get their **** together, but I hope they're not biting off more than they can chew.

On the other end of the spectrum, Marvel's efforts in the animated market have been abysmal compared to the great work being done in the DC Animated Universe over the years. Some of those direct-to-market films have been excellent.

Speaking of which I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy a few days ago. Glad I did, it was a great ride (as expected). The downside is that now I can't get the ooga-ooga ooga-chaka out of my head.

@skell I know a lot of people are looking at it as though DC blinked first, but really they moved the movie up 6 weeks, so if it's actually ready by then, it's a win-win in my book. The only real problem I have is that I'm not the least bit interested in BvS at the moment. I thought MoS blew and BvS looks like it's going to be a horrible pseudo-adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns.

So the most recent films I saw were:

And So it Goes, which was terribly unfunny,  and predictable. Rob Reiner has directed some phenomenal movies in his career but this is certainly not one of them.

Wish I Was Here, which is decent and hits close to home for me, but it is very similar to Braffs previous film Garden State.

I Origins,  a pretencious indie film that argues spiritual philosophy with a straw man thought up by the writer. The director tries to dismantle an argument that was never made. Pretty Meh overall.  It tries to be profound with little shallow musings passed off as deep thought. He drags out stuff that we have already figured out long it before it happens. It also constantly implies that science is closed minded.

Since we're on the subject, I'm going to be launching my own site soon about all things film, fighting and fiction. Mostly a place to throw down sick beats ... and by beats, I mean editorials and the like.

I'll post a link when it's ready to go.

Just got back from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. What a terrible POS that was. Megan Fox is such a vapid talentless waste of screen space. There is hardly a scene without her in it as well. The footclan are not martial artist they are just gun toting thugs in swat gear. Shredder looks to be straight off the set of transformers in his robo samurai suit. Oh and the Ninja turtles were April O'Neils pets when growing up and she is the one who named them and Splinter is a NY lab rat who found a book on Ninjitsu.

Only reason I will be watching TMNT is because my little brother wants to watch it. You can be sure it will be a matinee.

Luckily I only pay a monthly flat fee and can see whatever (2D) movies I want. So I don't feel bad when I see a **** movie. In fact the only time I would feel bad if I didn't see enough movies. But it has already more than paid for itself this month.

The fight scenes are mostly foot soldiers with guns shooting at the turtles. There are big action scenes that remind me of **** I saw in transformers for some reason... just the style I guess. Maybe it's because the fight scenes always between CGI characters.  Also the turtles have superhuman strength and durability,  they are even bulletproof.  There are things about the action scenes that left me underwhelmed for some reason.
