Shields should win at least win a decision, if not submit him.

Ellenberger has big power in his hands, and solid wrestling though.  You can never count a guy like that out.

I'm very tempted to pick Ellenberger, But Shields striking has gotten better and i think he'll be able to take Jake down and grind out a decision.

i think he will come in hungry not only because he just lost to GSP (and kampmann in my opinion) but also for his dad

It really depends on how his dad's loss will affect him, it could make him fight for his dad and go 120%, or he could be distracted and his head might not be in it.

I think Shields is one of the best fighters when it comes to implementing a game plan.  With the exception of his last fight he goes in there and does what he does best.  I can't justify picking Ellenberger just because I think Shields is way too good, and I don't think the loss of his father will effect his mental stability in a negative way.  I thought of switching my pick, but I'm going to stick with Shields.

ellenberger will make shields look like an amateur and will completely dominate him by a 30-27 decision or by a KO/TKO 1st or 2nd round .. trust me on this 1 .. can't wait for this fight :) fking excited

Ellenberger has only been submitted once in his professional career, which is impressive, but I think Shields is a better submission expert than Ellenberger has faced to date.  I also think that Shields has fought the better quality opposition by a long shot.  I'm excited to see Ellenberger fight, but I think Shields will have the upper hand in this one.

I really hope Ellenberger gets the KO, but I just dont see it happening. I have Shields via Decision. I think the majority of the fight is going to be Ellenberger defending subs and trying to get back to his feet.

Slight favorite is just crazy you silly goose (Southpark Tag). Ellenberger has good wrestling and striking, but at best he might be equal to Shields. He does have some KO power, but he will not KO Shields (Hendo tested that theory). Ellenberger's flaw is he is constantly put into bad positions by his lack of BJJ and weakness off his back. As soon as this hits the mat, you will find Ellenberger on his back or being submitted.
