I've got Frankie winning this one, but I am honestly surprised that the picks are so lopsided.  This should be one of those times where it's a 50/50 split.  However, maybe it's just that the Tapology community is just a highly educated bunch of MMA fans, who see the writing on the wall of the new trend in MMA.  First it was submission experts, then it was sprawl and brawl, and now it's the counter striking strategy which has yet to be named.  We have seen several variations of a similar strategy with the best names in the sport:  GSP, Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, Jose Aldo, Frankie Edgar, etc.  Calculated strikes with lots of movement, and making your opponent pay for his mistakes, all while nullifying take down attempts with footwork and sprawls.

Granted, GSP still likes to take his opponents down and dominate the top game, but he has employed this strategy before with that laser beam jab, with variations of the superman punch thrown into the mix.

I'm a bit surprised 65% are taking edgar.  they've fought twice already.  maynard won the first and nearly finished the second.  frankie has yet to hurt him.  frankie has also gone through some bad lower back problems in the interim.  i find both the odds and the picking patterns on here a little off, actually.

Maynard fights with a chip on his shoulder and gets picked apart by Edgar then ultimately pounded out in the fourth.
Frankie looks to make a statement. Fight should be great, and I can't wait to watch

as yall might remember from the yagin vs soto fight, i hold weighins very important to gaining insight of training camps and weight cuts...i see edgar look as out of shape as ever, and maynard will win...but probably will b uber cautious to avoid gassing again...changed my pick to maynard this morning

i'm picking maynard, but if edgar can hold on, the longer it goes, the better his chances get i think. no matter what, it looks like it will be a helluva fight though
