GSP sounds like he is close to a nervous breakdown. Most people don't come back from that. Step away from the belt and take care of yourself.

I was really shocked at Dana at the start of the press conference, but I give him a lot of credit for stepping in and shutting the reporters down after GSP made it clear he wasn't going to play patient to the reporter psychoanalysts. He's got **** to deal with and Dana knows they're going to need to have a long talk and the reporters can wait for them to handle their business.

And after the fight, with all the controversy, I hope people are able to recognize and appreciate how classy both GSP and Hendricks have been. Nothing but compliments paid to one another, nothing but respect and a desire to do the best they can. It's too bad the night had to end in controversy, but at the same time, it shows the fighters' hearts and characters, and GSP and Hendricks are both about the best you can ask for in this sport.

He looked like that after the Jake Shields fight. Did you think Jake Shields beat GSP?

This rematch better happen. Condit and Brown are busy, but Shields, Kim, Lawler and Lim serve as contenders. None are more deserving than Johny, especially after tonight.

Ok, I've calmed down and rewatched the fight ... though I still think Hendricks won, I don't think it was such a robbery ... imo, Hendricks won rounds 1,2 & 4, but 2 could go GSP's way in someone else's eyes.

Two things come to mind.

1. The way that fight went, GSP should've announced his retirement at the press conference not in the Octagon. After all the years of excellence and hard work he deserved much more than to be booed with an announcement of this caliber.

2. Now Dana knows he has to market Hendricks as the best 170 pounder in the world and not "the best 170 pounder after GSP retired" so naturally he's going to say GSP lost. If GSP had won and he still had his marketing machine on his side he'd be playing a different tune just like he did with Jones/Gus. I think GSP deserves a bit more from him too.

Everyone focusing on cosmetic damage is missing the point. GSP also looked like he lost to Condit and Diaz, even though he dominated both fighters.

Personally, I had it 48-47 GSP with the second round being the deciding one. Whatevs. Hopefully they rematch.

@Nomad, no problem man, reach out any time, I'll finally have someone to watch the fights with (by the way we get them free(ish) here) :)

By the way, I'm watching the press conference now ... I love the Russian reporter's question: *read in heavy Russian accent* "Ali, your nickname punch king, so what happen? why only decision?" ... LOL!!!

Seriously, some people bruise and bleed easier than others. I been trying to say that all night. The fight I saw had about the same number of strikes landed by both guys and by about the third round, GSP was giving as good as he got in terms of damage done by each strike landed.
