Look Overeem has a weak chin and anyone that weighs 260 pounds hits hard as hell so I wouldn't count out Mir by KO.

After Overeem's last 2 performances, I'm very tempted to pick Mir here.

If Overeem doesn't... well I dunno but he needs to do something that involves not getting knocked out.  I would like to think he can decisively finish this fight and even keep from getting subbed if it goes to the ground bit watching Mir break Big Nog's says otherwise.  I'm probably gonna go Reem in this one.  Gut just says go that way.

@Skeliher, it gets annoying at how presumptuous some of you are. I OBVIOUSLY know why the UFC makes the card the way they did. Regardless Overeem has been KOed in his last two fights while Mir is 0-3 in his last 3 both in their mid thirties on the verge of retirement. Sonnen vs Rashad, Rashad 1-2 in his last 3 with back to back boring controversial decisions, Rashad hasn't been exciting in ages! Sonnen 1-2 in his last 3 also but this is the co main event? Of course. Tyron vs Koscheck, Kos 1-3 in his last 4 and most think he should be 0-4 in his mid thirties on the verge of retirement, Woodley 1-2 in his last 3 if I'm not mistaken, known as a very boring fighter.

I know why they do it, the UFC is desperate for star appeal and people are fixated on 205lbs and 265lbs but to me, I don't know...I'm so supposed to jump out of socks when I see this main card but I only am excited for Robbie vs Rory and GSP vs Johny. Is it me or the fact that the "star riddled" main card being all on losing streaks..Making the UFC look a bit illegitimate? Isn't it a problem when they aren't building up all the bright prospects and contenders to where the mainstream fans ALSO want to see them?

I'm ranting an being negative, I don't mean to be a hater....This is just my opinion is all, and Tapology is a great place for discussion.

I feel bad for Mir, I would have rather seen him fight Vera next and get his revenge but this fight makes 100% sense I just wish it would have happened next year.

I think Overeem's going to destroy him early in round 1. Hes looked great in both of his last two fights even though he lost them both by KO, he dominated both fights before getting caught.

I don't see him getting knocked out or submitted in this one and hes an amazing striker with insane power so its not looking good for Mir.

@Nomad: Personally, I'd still rather see Josh Koscheck, Frank Mir and Rashad Evans on a main card than guys like John Makdessi, Stephen Thompson and Max Holloway. But that's just me.

Makdessi, Stephen Thompson and Max Holloway are who you think I am suggesting? Oh man.....Hahahahahahahahahahahaha those guys aren't top 50 in their divisions.

More like...Mousasi, Matt Brown, Werdum, Stipe, Browne, Khabib, Masvidal, Tim elliot, jon dodson, Jacare, McGregor, Mendes, Lamas, Josh Thomson, michael mcdonald, Assuncao, tj dillashaw, benavidez, Costa Philippou, Gunnar Nelson, Tarec Saffiedine, Glover, Gustafsson, ect ect.

Again 1-3 in his last 4, 36 years old Koscheck vs 1-2 in his last 3 Tyron Woodley
Again 0-2 in his last 2 Overeem vs 0-3 in his last 3 Frank Mir
1-2 in his last 3 Sonnen vs 1-2 in his last 3 Suga

It's just weird that those are 3 of the 5 fights on the main card to me, personally. I'd rather see Stipe Miocic vs Travis Browne, Rustam Khabilov vs Jorge Masvidal, Matt Brown vs Saffiedine, Costa vs Carmont ect. I know most fans just want to see fighters they've heard of or know a lot about from UFC hype but that's not me, I'm just stating my opinion, having a discussion you know.

It's also weird when most people haven't heard of a Khabib Nurmagomedov or a Gunnar Nelson but Koscheck is what the people want! Lets see Frank Mir! Old, slow and brain damaged wooh! Something can be done about this I'm sure, they have to make it where people want to watch the top talent of today rather than guys on the verge of retirement losing consecutive fights. Suga vs Sonnen is actually fine, but I just used their current streaks to further my point.

@Nomad: I get what you're saying, but literally almost every fighter on the list you just put forth are either coming off recent fights, meaning they won't be ready by November 16, or are already scheduled for other Main Cards.

So, there's really no way to get them on a PPV main card on Nov. 16, and I just don't agree that guys like Chael Sonnen, Rashad Evans, Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem, all of whom are consistent top 10s, should be on prelims. Doesn't make any sense.

And you also need to keep in mind who these guys are losing to. Chances are, if you threw Koscheck and Mir in there against these WW or HW prelim fighters, they would eat them alive at this stage of their careers. Once you become a consistent main-carder, you're going to be fighting your peers in the top 10, which will lead to streaks of wins and losses alike. It's easier to put together a big streak when you're on the prelims. Even Matt Brown -- who I love -- has yet to beat a top 10 opponent. He'll get his chance next -- that's the way it works.

Mir really should have opted to take a step back in competition.  Alistair is a very tough match up for him, especially coming off 3 losses. I don't think he can take Alistair down, and standing up Alistair will smash him.

Battle of who has been finished more brutally in their career, too bad TRT doesn't improve your heart and chin. I never bought into the Overeem hype, if you had seen his career before that it's kind of hard to ignore those KO/TKO losses he had and not see them happening again when he faced tough fighters. Granted, I will watch Frank Mir get destroyed by Overeem but will take no joy in watching a man beat a dead horse over and over.

I hate this fight... There is no way Mir can withstand the type of barrage Overeem threw on "Hapa" Brown. This is a cool fight, but I won't necessarily enjoy watching it because it will prove nothing to me for either fighter.

@Skelliher, I get it I really do and I'm way too jaded but it's not that I actually think Reem vs Mir should be on the prelims I just think Kos vs T-wood, Mir vs Reem, Suga vs Sonnen is an awful lot of flunky matchups of guys with losing records in the past year to fill a pay per view card. You know, I'm that guy who is way more excited to see a matchup like daniel strauss vs patricio freire or curran vs frodo than Wandy vs Rich Franklin or Hendo vs Rashad.

Look at the next Brazil card for example

Maia vs Shields
erick silva vs dong hyun kim
rony jason vs jeremy stephens
assunca vs dillashaw
mike pierce vs palhares

those are 5 amazing fights on free tv right there that are very well matched, the fights on this pay per view...Not so much, 3 of them are guys with losing records in the last year that have either sank out of the top 10 or their divisions are just too pathetically shallow ( LHW an HW ) out of their primes ect. But because of their name and past achievements we know they cannot still live up to, they're big PPV quality fights? Meh.

Not to mention on that card Yan Cabral, Ildemar Alcantara two of my favorite WW prospects right now getting fights in on that Brazil card. I feel like Kos, Mir and Reem need to be headlining Fox Sports 1 cards right now trying to literally save their careers, attract a lot of eyes to free TV and with 1 or 2 impressive wins after being built a little bit back up throw them on PPV's vs up and coming impressive talent so that either then up and comer can transcend or the old lion can stake his claim but those fights are just unappealing to me, especially kos vs t-wood an reem vs mir.
