MacDonald vs. Lawler

This is a good step up for Lawler, however I see his skills being very much along the same level as Jake Ellenberger. I see Rory handling the fight very similarly to how he handled Ellenberger in his previous fight utilizing the strike and securing a unanimous decision. Maybe after this fight we can see Rory and GSP face off otherwise known as one of the most boring potential fights in UFC history...

^ except Lawler WILL push forward, he's in his prime, and confident enough in his skills. If rory pulls out the GSP gameplan, its gonna enrage robbie into a slugfest with him. IMO

I hope Lawler takes MacDonald's head clean off, used to be such a fan of this kid until he decided to become GSP 2.0. Now all I want to see of him is if he is getting viciously knocked out, luckily Robbie is a guy that can accomplish this feat. Hopefully he doesn't play it safe all night like Ellenburger did.

This fight is going to be what Ellenberger vs MacDonald should have been.

I want this to happen to Rory:

Thing here is I believe lawler will have answers for the jab and is more well rounded striker then someone like ellenberger. With his power I believe he could get better of the striking exchanges with rory. If that happens I think rory will be hard pressed to get Lawler down. Lawler is I believe a better wrestler then Rory, i believe rory is a better all around grappler.  I think if Rory clinches with him he going to be surprised when Lawler has a strength advantage. I think Rory is more likely to just out fight Lawler and win, but Lawler def a live underdog, he has looked good recently at 170.

I see this fight going to the ground early. Rory will put Lawler on his back and grind him out. Rory will gameplan the sh*t out of this fight.

Jacare, Tim Kennedy, Koscheck...All had a hard time keeping Lawler on his back or even getting him there. This idea that Rory can take him down and grind him out...I just see no logical reasoning, as a matter of fact Jake, Condit and Pyle took Rory down so it wouldn't be outrageous to think Lawler could mix **** up on the Marilyn Manson himself. I'm picking Rory, I don't mean to contradict myself but Lawler is an explosive athlete (badum tiss) and has insane power in his arms and legs, a solid chin. great defensive grappling and I think if he was a more intelligent fighter would of been UFC champion long ago but was lazy, didn't want to cut weight, rode the Militich camp wagon until the wheels fell off despite it being obsolete for like 15 years now. Lawler really just can give up in fights too, the Larkin fight was crazy the lowest Fight IQ I've ever seen. He rocks Larkin early and just lets him recover, then he goes to clinch Larkin on the cage but gets torn up in the clinch so what's he do? Initiates the clinch and lets Larkin beat him up to a decision. 

Rory is smart, he has a strong mind and is a consistent fighter. I think he's more skilled and intelligent but Lawler has a lot more raw talent and experience. If a on point Lawler shows up, be ready for a knockout folks.

Lawler a beast, he has been fighting since 2001 and is only 31 years old. With his recent move to 170 and how he has looked, I'm gonna go with my heart on this one and take Lawler. MacDonald has shown some impressive power and technique, but Lawler has equally impressive power and technique proven over 12 years at two weight classes.

It's also because I hate every thing about MacDonald's sense of style when it comes to getting dressed, and **** people in the neck who wear glasses for look and don't need them.

Rory is going to keep Lawler at bay just like he did Ellenburger and finish in the 3rd when Lawler gasses.
