Masvidal is live as ****, Gil even had trouble taking him down. But I'm still going with Khabliov.

I'm going to have to rewatch that Gil fight now that you mention it....Both guys are scrappy as **** and potent fighters, no real holes in their games, similar age, similar size, Jorge has the competition and experience edge but Rustam has that X-Factor being a scary ass Russian guy we don't know much about Suplexing people into their graves.

Such a sick fight, I gotta Pick Masvidal simply because....It was announced Barboza to fight Rustam but Barboza and his team went public saying it's not a good fight for him, he wants someone else and refuses this fight...The next day on twitter Jorge was calling Rustam out, the only guy with the cahones...he ain't scared homie.

Sambo and being Dagestani trump experience, awesome standup and grit.

I think Khabilov frustrates Jorge a-la Khabib/Trujillo. Not that I'm in any way saying Trujillo's on Jorge's level or even close, I just think that Sambo is the perfect martial art to negate Jorge's standup and solid traditional-wrestling TDD. The Sambo dudes just stick to you, pick you up, throw you down, pick you up again and Jorge has been known to get frustrated by that kind of fight. Having good TDD vs. wrestling doesn't mean you'll be able to stop Sambo because the technique is totally different.

That said, I won't be blown away if Jorge wins, he's definitely capable.

He's not the first guy to win via suplex either. If I could post the vid I would, but Nick Denis vs. Nick Mamalis-chokeslam suplex KO, its on youtube im sure

That being said, I don't think Jorge is gonna be controlled that easily, hes been in the cage with the best in the world on a few occasions, I think he weathers the early storm and wins a close decision in the later rounds.

But...He can still get KO'd, Rustam has the power in both hands, so that is still a possibility

Will Khabilov be that world beater that everyone seems to be expecting him to be? Probably not, but neither has Masvidal been. Should be a VERY exciting match, but I think the Russian will eventually pull out the knockout victory.

Somebody explain the Khabilov hype please? The guy's done nothing yet and he's favored over a guy who's actually beaten and competed with legit competition? Masvidal will roll.

@DDP;

31% of Tapologists picking Rustam Khabilov are mistaking him for Khabib "The Eagle" Nurmagomedov

Wins/close fights with: Mike Chiesa, Justin Wilcox, Gilbert Melendez, Paul Daley, Joe Lauzon, Yves Edwards, & Ryan Healy  trump wins over Yancy Medeiros, Vinc Pichel, & a bunch of Russians no-one has heard of.

War Jorge!

I don't think they're confusing the russians, They're just buying the hype; there's a lot of buzz around Khabilov, and since russians/chechenians have been booming in MMA lately, people pick em.

That's just my theory anyways.

I'm picking Khabilov because I think he will sambo**** Masvidal.
