I'd agree with that looking at his UFC record but i'm still pissed about the B.S decision he got on Larkin and Lawler, i do agree he is good but he needs quite a bit more time to develop.  Right now he ahould be fighting guys like C.B Dolloway or Andrew Craig

Carmont started out with a bang with those 2 subs. He looked like he would dominate. Those last 2 decision wins have been anything but.

that's true and that's what pisses me off about Carmont.  He was finishing guys and now he's won 2 fights he arguably lost, which is never good to endorse a fighter to the common fan. Also,  Carmont is very talented but should go back to the fighter that finished vemola and cedenbald, Mentality wise.

a great year of mma ahead

yea i can see why belfort would be ranked higher he is on a tear and silva just lost . that said if they both had a rematch i think it would be a very hard fight for both fighters and silva would come out on top .i would also like to say i feel that the middleweight Div is stacked right now and i cant wait to see it unfold

Why is Andy ranked below Weidman if he is the favorite to win the rematch? Heck, I am pretty sure Weidman vs Belfort would be as predictable as a coin throw...

He was a larger favorite to win the first match, what the **** difference does it make that he's the favorite to win the rematch when talking about rankings? The champ always gets the #1 spot, that's the only thing consistent about most media site rankings.

It's funny how Chris Weidman is still behind Anderson Silva in some people ranking even though he knock him out. Oh well I guess my profile picture should be a reminder of who the true number one middle weight in the world is. :D

@ja3074

Some people rank Anderson Silva as number 1 because the number one in this list should be the best MW of the world, not the guy who legally killed the best MW of the world with a punch to the chin.

If you think Weidman is better than Silva go ahead and place him as number 1, but saying someone is the best MW in the world just because he beat Anderson Silva out is pretty dumb. A strong argument can be made for Chris Weidman at the top of this list: his improving striking, his gameplans, his ability to keep his opponents guessing, his jiu-jitsu... You can't rank fighters based on a single punch.

There is also the "bad matchup" factor: Shogun is a better fighter than Sonnen, but he will be beat by Sonnen this August. That doesn't mean Sonnen is better than Shogun, that just means than when facing Sonnen, Shogun loses.

Did I just get 5 thumbs down because I said someone being the champion doesn't necessarily mean they are the best of the world in that weight class?
