Take a look at this article that talks about why Weidman is in a tough spot after his win over Anderson: http://fightparrot.com/chris-weidman-new-ufc-middleweight-champion/

How do you rank Weidman compared to Anderson?

By beating Silva the other night, he is of course the new champion. But, my question is: Can society accept Weidman as the best middleweight in the sport? Or, does he need a rematch with Anderson at his "best"?

To be the champ, you gotta bet the champ. Chris did that.

I 100% consider him the new champ. He knocked out Anderson Silva so why the **** wouldn't I or anyone for that matter? Unfortunately Chris is probably going to have to beat Anderson again for people to really accept that he's the new champ which is ******** but I guess that's the way it has to be.

Luckily for Weidman fans like myself, he'll do just that. It's no coincidence that after Chris took Silva down and controlled him with little trouble, Anderson began clowning trying to goad Chris into engaging on the feet. Anderson felt was Chris had for him on the ground and he didn't like it one bit.

Yes, Silva played around with his opponents before finishing them. He couldn't do that with Chris, so that definitely says something about him.

Also Silva couldn't beat Weidman or stay awake for more than 10 minutes against him...

Of course he's the champ.

I did see an interesting point by Ben Fowlkes. He said Chris Weidman needs the rematch more than Silva does. I kind of have to agree with him there. Silva beats Weidman, Weidman turns into Matt Serra (not really but we'll see). Weidman beats Silva again, he becomes Frankie Edgar. A man who beat a legend in back to back fights and still is regarded as the cream of the crop

Weidman controlled the first round, then silva got ****y and wanted to put it on the feet...geuss what silva, your opponents know how to throw a punch, your not invincible. he disrespected maia and cote, Weidman wasn't havin it. that's your new champion.

I think its different then matt serra beating gsp, because chris Weidman is the future of the division, and this is like passing of the torch

not to say serra wasn't a beast, but his prime was behind him.

fight 2's gonna be a different silva, but also a better Weidman.

Of course he is the new champ.

Should he be ranked above Anderson? in the MW picture yes, in the P4P picture not.
