I had a few people tell me to post a thread here on Tapology about the MMA Prospects Report that I am currently running on my own site. I've tried to follow in the footsteps of Leland Roling and Smoogy from BE, who ran their Scouting Report in 2011 and 2012. They decided to not do a 2013 edition, so I took a stab at it.

Anyways, you can read more about it in the link, but I profile 10 fighters from each major weight class, 80 fighters in all. Thus far, I have completed Flyweight and Bantamweight, and am at the midway point of Featherweight.

I realize my site is small beans, but I am hoping my Prospects Report gets its fair share of readers. If you end up liking the coverage and report, please pass on the word.

Here is the link to the Report:
http://rankingmma.com/mma-prospects-report-2013/

So, far the fighters featured were:
Flyweight
1. Darrell Montague
2. Sergio Pettis
3. Josh Sampo
4. Sean Santella
5. Danny Martinez
6. Mamoru Yamaguchi
7. Dileno Lopes
8. Ali Bagautinov (recently signed w/UFC)
9. Rafael de Freitas
10. Jose Maria Tome

Bantamweight
1. Henry Cejudo
2. Bibiano Fernandes
3. Aljamain Sterling
4. Marlon Moraes
5. Sheymon Moraes
6. Josh Hill
7. Chris Holdsworth
8. Brandon Bender
9. Kyoji Horiguchi
10. Sirwan Kakai

Featherweight
6. Andre Fili
7. Gleristone Santos
8. Tom Niinimaki
9. Goiti Yamauchi
10. Chris Gruetzemacher

Lopati, I am not sure what prompted you to resort to calling me a "bozo," but I guess if it makes you feel extra powerful, then go right ahead. If you don't like my work or think the FAQ is "bologna," why are you wasting your time posting on this thread then? Move right along, there are plenty of people who have made positive comments or provided constructive criticism.

As for trying to name drop Scott McDonald as being better than Henry Cejudo, come on. I was told this place was free of trolling...I guess you proved them wrong.

@Ranking: Unfortunately, no place on the Internet is completely free of trolling. Lopati gets a bit moody sometimes.

@Lopati: No need for personal insults.

Just some basic arguing going on here, nothing to be concerned about.  You are posting your rankings, expect them to be debated.   In general it seems people like the thread and want to talk about it. Don't take the arguments personally.

I'm all for a debate, it's just guys like Lopati, who sort of ruin that environment by resorting to name calling so he can feel like an internet tough guy. If I wanted to listen to those type of people I would go on the UG.

It's friendlier here than the UG.  Lopati is boisterous but you'll get along fine.

Keep up the good discussion on prospect watching.  You've got 13 up-thumbs on your OP so people are digging it, even if they don't like some of your individual selections.

Good rankings I have a thing for them and it's always interesting to see what talent is out there. I have one improvement suggestion for you though instead of Yamaguchi who's 36 and lost his last 2 I would include this cat here. He recently beat Dileno Lopes who's your nr.7.

Other than that the lists are cool, post the others in this thread if they are ready, looking forward to them.

If being called a bozo has you this up in arms STAY AWAY FROM ANIKM, lol.

You got called a bozo for your snide little comment about not taking the time to read your FAQ, which you didn't link or mention once in OP.

Moraes is definitely impressive, he would have made the list had his win over Lopes occurred after I completed the report. Yamaguchi would definitely be off as well due to his loss to Yamagami. At the time of the report, he had a decent showing against Montague.

These aren't just rankings, it's an actual report I completed with full profiles of each prospect.
I'm not sure if everyone is taking notice of that. If anyone remembers BloodyElbow's Smoogy and Leland Roling's scouting reports, that is what I am trying to do in a sense. I didn't just throw together some rankings, I took it a step further and provided video footage, background info, links, stats, commentary, etc.

The report is already completed. I'm just releasing a new prospect each day. I can't go back at this point and take out certain fighters because they recently lost (Yamaguchi) or add in fighters (Ozkilic, Moraes) as I go. Rankings fluctuate each month, especially in the prospects world, so I tried to do my best to identify the 10 best prospects in each weight class as of June 1, 2013.

The link did have the FAQ in it, but remember you weren't going to read it because it was just a bunch of "bologna!"

I'm not sure how telling you to read the FAQ is a snide comment. You had a question, I tried to explain it. I guess you took it the wrong way and needed to vent your frustration. It's all good. I'm starting to learn my way around here. This place does seem a bit more hospitable than the UG!

RankingMMA, well I didn't realize that actually but thanks for the hint. I always liked the bloddy elbow reports but haven't seen one lately. Gonna check it out later...

I used to like the reports too, so that's what prompted this project and thread. I figured there had to be a few more MMA nerds besides myself that liked reading about prospects.

Here are just a few sample profiles I have written for the MMA Prospects Report 2013. The rankings are extremely debatable, I was just more concerned with identifying top-level prospects and giving them some attention just as BloodyElbow's scouting reports did.

Doo Ho Choi

Darrell Montague

Aljamain Sterling

Sheymon Moraes

Bantamweight Honorable Mentions

I'm guessing Lance Palmer is your No.1 Featherweight? Anyone know if Choi has officially signed with the UFC yet?

I don't want to spam the site with every link to every profile because I'm guessing the moderators would not be pleased. The original thread post has the link to the main page of the Report, which has every fighter profiled thus far.

Thanks to those that have read it thus far. It was a lot of hard work, I can see why Smoogy and Leland stopped doing at BE.
