Sonnen will probably tag Shogun early with his mix of pressure and punches, then take him down and win the round. At rounds 2 and 3 we will see an increasingly tired Shogun trying to knock Sonnen out, but his need to defend his legs against the double leg takedown might lower his guard enough to be tagged again. If Chael can force Shogun to lower his guard and win the standing battle (and I assure you he can do that) Shogun will be weaponless to win. Add to that the fact that Chael has a very good gas tank while Shogun's cardio was never very good and we will either see a unanimous decision for Sonnen or a late third-round submission. As I see it, Shogun's only shot at winning will be submitting his foe (although being Sonnen the foe in question, that isn't that difficult to do).
I further commented that Shogun could avoid the situation above with an early knockout, but I wouldn't count on that.

But anyway, I think Shogun has a really underrated wrestling game, look at what he did to Hendo. His cardio has always been the problem though, which is also Sonnen's strength. If Hendo couldn't KO Shogun there's no way in hell Sonnen will, and I doubt Sonnen will submit him either because of how advanced Shogun's Jiu-Jitsu is. Sonnen won't be able to take Shogun down the first two rounds and it'll be a standup war with a lot of failed takedown attempts from Sonnen. If Shogun can't knock Sonnen out during then, he WILL start getting taken down easy and lose a decision.

Hendo isn't an example, you don't have to be a great wrestler to take Hendo down. Seriously, when's the last time Hendo took anyone down??? People keep on seeing the Greco-Roman background and forgetting that in no way or form does Hendo have good MMA wrestling anymore. He's lost the speed and explosiveness you need to be able to defend the takedown properly and/or take someone down.
He was taken down 8 times by Shogun and 16(!!!) times by Shields!!! Heck, even Rampage took him down 7 times when Hendo was younger and faster and he barely tries to take people down.
Chael is a better MMA wrestler than all of the above and he'll be hunting for the TD for 25 minutes without stopping. No fight against Hendo can show if Shogun can stop Chael's TDs of not.
Plus, Shogun was losing until Dan gassed in the 3rd. Chael won't gas in the 3rd.
Shogun needs to break Chael fast or he loses. Once Chael gets hit hard he tends to give up pretty quick, but if he's the one on the offense it'll be a long night for Shogun.

Wins that he should've lost? Check. Significant wins over declining competition? Check. Losses to less-than-stellar competition? Check. The most one-dimensional fighter in the modern era of this sport? Check. Responsible for the increase in the usage of testosterone? Check. A loss to Jake freakin' Shields? Check.
Dan Henderson's a JOKE. Why the **** do white people love this guy so much? His record's 29-9 but he should be 24-13-1, now that record isn't NEARLY as impressive now is it?
