Prediction: wrong Machida wrong Decision

I was kinda holding out for Machida versus Gustaffson, but this will work, I don't think Davis has the stand up smarts to fight with Machida, I hate Machida's frustrating counter strike style in my opinion it's not exciting to watch, I personally feel Henderson won the 2nd and 3rd round of the last fight, but that is just me. This fight should keep him near a contender spot, and we'll be seeing him face Jon Jones again at some point I'm sure.

I get the feeling this is gonna look exactly like Machida/Bader. Davis' stand-up isn't close to being on par with Bader's too.

So Machida beats the #1 contender (Hendo) and gets Davis, and Davis beats unranked Vinny and gets the #2 (#1?) 205er.

How does this make sense?

only thing that worries me is lyoto's speed, but as a big phil fan its time for him to step up and beat a high ranked guy...i think phil is much better than we saw against rashad. i'm pickin him to win this fight but if he doesn't hard to think he's ever gonna be a contender

It's great that Phil Davis is finally getting the step -up in competition he needed but pitting him agianst Lyoto Machida is not going to end well due to Machida having excellent footwork, unorthodox striking, and a sound ground game.

i think they could be matching brazillians against guys from other countries.
and Davis' last three wins are against brazillians, so that could be a reason.

i think Machida gets this, but im not that confident.

I'm amazed anyone is giving Davis much of a chance. No one has ever controlled Machida on the ground. Aside from Jon Jones, no one has even really been able to take him down. Then standing up, it's a total mismatch.

The only reason I'm not picking Machida in the first, is cause Machdia tends to take his time.
