@ yossgold - you're post towards me was a great one, and I agree with that post 100%. Had to give you thumbs up on that, and yes Tito was just as responsible, and he should've fought the most deserving of fighters when he was the LHW Champion. All I was pointing out is that Dana markets who is marketable, and once they're no longer marketable, or they don't play ball with him, he slams them, discredits their accomplishments, or basically whatever it takes to keep the money train rolling. Don't really blame Dana there. It is a business, and business is all about making money, but we all know that Cyborg is the best p4p women's fighter in MMA. At this point and time, Dana will do whatever it takes to keep Rousey marketable, and discredit Cyborg at the same time.

Relationships with employees become more and more scarce and everyone's on the same page. You be marketable, I'll give you the stage.
We may not like it, but it's an inherent part of the sport growing.
I'd still like the UFC to be a bit more professional when they do actually cut fighter, as in not publish until HR department has verified the fighter actually knows so he doesn't find out via Twitter or MMAMania (ahem, Ulysses Gomez) and maybe for the veterans the guy who makes the call isn't some dude/dudette from HR, but actually Dana, Silva or Shelby (basically the person they were dealing with when they were still in the company's grace).
As for discrediting Cyborg. I agree, that's the part of Dana's personality I don't really like. But the thing is, he actually believes in his rants, it's not just strategy and I don't think it does that much damage, so in the words of the man himself, it is what it is :)

But Dana White is not only doing business, he is false and mean-spirited. When he cut Jon Fitch, he kicked him at the same time. While trying desperately to sound even-handed and not personal, he said he liked Fitch but that Fitch was on the way down. False.
White was the primary force who refused to let Fitch fight anyone on his own level. He waved off Penn, Hughes and Jake Shields from fighting Fitch after the Penn fight. Gave him Hendricks, Aaron Simpson, Erick Silva.
When White cut Cyborg, he kicked her too. After Cyborg offered to come down to 140, White IMMEDIATELY said Cyborg wanted nothing to do with Rousey!!!!!!!!
White' level of balls-in-his-mouth chutzpah and lies through his teeth is staggering.
White is not only conducting business. His level of credibility is so non-existent, so below zero, that anyone who takes anything he says seriously is a fool and willfully blind.
Do I still like Dana White? No, not really. I used to. I used to defend him. But not anymore. He could have done things so differently. He could conduct business with integrity, class and honesty. He just didn't want to. So, he will go on kicking people, lying and hurting good fighters.

I have largely tried to stay off the forums the last few months because it didn't bring out the best in me and I want to be an ever improving person, but there are a few subjects that affect me on such a visceral level I find it difficult not to speak. Anything involving Jon Jones (or his opponents), or Ronda Rousey (or her opponents) and its tough to shut up.
1. No list of accomplishments can be taken seriously when Jan Finney's name is involved.
2. No list, regardless of its length, can be taken seriously when you consider that all aspects of it are tainted by an unfair advantage.
3. There is a MASSIVE difference between being a one trick pony (meaning to me that one thing is all one CAN do) and being such a specialist that the experts on what you are doing are calling you the best at it. Ronda doesn't need steroids because she's worked on the toughness that you can't find in pill form and that's why Cyborg (who's very nickname is a nod to her steroid use) could NEVER defeat her.
4. Santos can run around and try to ride the Ronda fame train and try to keep her irrelevant name in the headlines, but the simple fact is this, she doesn't want to fight the best or she would be doing it. If I had the chance to fight in the UFC, AND fight for a title in my debut, AND possible beat up and shut the mouth of my rival/nemesis I wouldn't let any of the garbage she's talking about stop me from taking full advantage of all the opportunities being afforded to me, ESP. if I was a woman! The woman wants to believe she can beat Ronda, but she knows she can't and couldn't.
5. How do folks still believe in Santos? I am mystified!

I've tried to keep this part out of it as much as I can, but ever since Rousey did that layout in ESPN naked every guy has jumped on the Rousey hype train, saying that she is best WMMA fighter of all time. Truth is she looks good in the buff, and that has increased her marketability.
Why do I still believe in Cyborg, because she fights. She's not doing layouts or modeling ********. She's out there being a true fighter and fighting the way an MMA fighter should fight. Not worrying about where her next sponsorship is going to come from, or who she is going to get naked in front of next, so some idiot can drool all over her picture and call her the best.
Why doesn't she fight Rousey? It's real simple. Rousey first fought in Strikeforce and MMA at 145, then when it looked like she was going to fight Cyborg next, she runs to 135. After she wins the women's 135 title she calls out Cyborg to come down to 135. Cyborg can't make the cut to 135 without doing damage to her body, and possibly causing serious damage to her reproductive system and/or doing such irreparable damage to her being able to have children.
There's a real simple way to end this debate once and for all. Just have them fight at 145. Who cares about titles, sponsorships, championships, or any other media type ********. Just ******* fight already. Cyborg is willing to fight at 140, so why doesn't Rousey compromise? It's not about the Championship for Cyborg, it's about who really is the best, and it looks to me like Rousey is afraid to fight Cyborg unless she's already half-dead coming into the fight, or doing irreparable damage to her body.
To Dana White....................whatever it takes to get these two to fight, just ******* do it already, so that the debate will finally end.

Rousey shouldn't have to compromise and go to 140 or 145. Shes the first and only UFC Womens 135 lb champ. She isn't the 145 lb anything. Why shouldn't Cyborg lose some of her roid muscles? If she wanted a crack at Rousey should could have fought her at 135 for the biggest WMMA belt in the world. If she can't make 135 than she should keep Rousey's name out of her mouth.
05.14.2013 | 9:45 PM ET
When Rousey says Cyborg is trying to stay relevant by calling her out, she proves she's TERRIFIED of Cyborg. Rousey is a made star by Dana White just as Diana Ross was a made Diva by Berry Gordy.
White protects her, runs clearance for her, and sells her. Rousey is afraid of Cyborg and the problem is White. He made the decision to launch Rousey into star status and it was the wrong decision. White picked and appointed Rousey to be the super-star and now she's showing diva tendencies.
Cyborg is a fighter. First and foremost. She ain't stripping and primping as a sex kitten. If they meet, Cyborg kicks her ass all over the Octagon. And it won't be civil. It will be brutal and gruesome. If Rousey wasn't being over-promoted I wouldn't have a single unkind thing to say about her.
"Love God, live with honor, keep your agreements."

Nope. Not at all.
Ronda made herself and she was "made" long before Dana brought her to the UFC.
05.14.2013 | 9:50 PM ET
*Note. Ignore that list^^^^ old and have not edited it since I created it.
Alright. As much as I dislike Ronda Rousey and think that Cyborg would beat her.. You can't put all the blame on Rousey. The way it should be is if you (in this case, Cyborg) are the one pushing for a fight .. then you better be prepared to cut/gain the weight necessary. And on top of that, Rousey is the champion in her respective weight class.. she has no reason to put on weight and drop the belt to face Cyborg when she is oin a small (but growing) division of females that are actually in her weight class.

Rousey's running and she has to to avoid having the **** beaten out of her the old, hard way. She ain't the best. She might be the most marketable because one man decided she was. And that man has the power to manipulate the rankings any which way he pleases.

Cyborg is calling Rousey out because the UFC is the biggest, best, premier MMA organization, and has invested in Rousey, making her the best known, and she's won a few fights.
But Cyborg is hyper-competitive and wants to fight anyone who is promoted as the best. Looks to me like Cyborg wants to fight Rousey but Rousey wants nothing whatsoever to do with Cyborg. Why do you think that is, if Rousey wanted to fight the best. If Rousey wanted the biggest fight, the money fight, or prove her mettle, she wouldn't run and hide and duck the best. Simple as that.
