I just LMFAO @ this match up haha. Look at it! Like ***? A fighter who is still considered in the top p4p against some relatively unknown fighter who just came off a KO loss not too long ago. The match up seems really funny to me.

I would have at least thought the UFC would have paired Edgar up with a Top 10 featherweight fighter.

Before Cub demolished him some people were calling for a Do Bronx title shot.

Edgar hasn't won a fight since 2011. He deserves somewhat of a tuneup fight.

Because he hasn't won since 2011....

I don't mean he needs a tune up like his skills are rusty...I mean so he can get some momentum and climb the rankings.

I cant think of anything other then a Edgar decision here. Or does Edgar get a TKO stoppage? Maybe a submission win for the Brazilian? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

This is the problem with Edgar and Mendes.

They're so much better than the other fighters of the division, but they're not taking the title from Aldo.

If the UFC wants to create new title contenders in the division, they need to keep them away from Edgar and Mendes.

I believe this fight was put together with the thought that Frankie Edgar coming off a win versus the winner of Swanson v. Siver would make a lot more sense than Frankie Edgar coming off 3 straight losses versus the winner of Swanson v. Siver.

I think it's a good idea to start Edgar with a 15-20 ranked fighter. They did it with Mendes against McKenzie (although I have Oliveira much higher than McKenzie). The FW division is pretty deep.
