I hope Cathal Pendred gets on it as well even due to someone getting injured. He was born in Boston so he wants on that card bad.

Anyone have any thoughts on Conor's next opponent? Hard to say which way the UFC will go with him...

Pendred won't be in the UFC for a while. Conor was impressive outside the UFC and I haven't been impressed by Pendred. Hopefully he makes it to the UFC, to add more irish blood to the roster. It would be a good story if he got the call though. Also fighting at 170lbs. will be tough for anyone to get in now.

That's on FOX sports 1 as well. Would love to see him on the maincard versus a guy like Bart Palaszweski, or maybe Akira could get a slot versus Conor.

@jaff- what about Holohan making it to the UFC? The Bantamweight division needs some good fighters.

I like @Swick's idea, McGregor vs Brandao would be fireworks...

McGregor vs Brandao has to be the fight really. The weigh ins alone would make it worth it! Plus Diego has a world class ground game which is something Conor needs tested.

@sreimuth I don't think he's been on a big enough stage yet to get notice from the UFC to be honest. Owen Roddy might be a few wins away from getting noticed. Same gym as Conor, beat UFC vet Shannon Gugerty and gave Wilson Reis a pretty decent fight albeit losing in the 3rd round.

If he continues winning, he'll get a title shot by this time next year. Or at least be very close to one. One of the fighters that everyone around the UFC wants to see succeed. So he'll have a shorter path than most. Not to say he won't deserve it, because he most definitely will if he can beat top ten talent.

I'm seeing a lot of people saying his striking reminds them of Anderson Silva. He reminds me of Nick Diaz personality wise... just listening to his pre and post fight interviews

McGregor wants Norman Parke in Boston. I would personally love to see him smash that idiot's face in. The dislike for Parke is strong in this one....

McGregor is young enough to do good thing in the UFC. His debut was pretty hyped up, and deservingly so.

Mcgregor vs Parke would be a slaughter figuratively and literally. Probably would be one of the more brutal KOs at FW.

Also I'm not sure there are many people that you can compare McGregor to striking. Eddie Wineland is probably the most obvious comparison I could make in that they use movement to set up angles that allows them to catch their opponent off guard, though I think McGregor does it better than Wineland (from the limited footage I've seen).

@Wish Well Conor has no problems going up to 55 so I'm sure he'd more than oblige Parke for the chance to knock his head off. Parke declaring he was British and even English to an extent to get on TUF didn't go down well with a lot of Irish people including me.

I really hope it happens but I honestly think Parke will struggle to get past Jon Tuck.

I meant that McGregor would KO Parke without too much trouble regardless of weight. What I've seen from Parke is that he is not UFC level in pretty much every part of his game and beat a guy that isn't UFC level in Fletcher. I honestly see Tuck pretty much outclassing Parke everywhere except maybe takedowns, which Tuck will go on to dominate him in the grappling department.

McGregor seems like he is the real deal in destroying Brimage. Brimage is a very underrated fighter that I thought was going to have a very close fight with McGregor, but McGregor comes in and lights Brimage up and outclassed him in his strongest area of MMA. That is just nuts.

I think McGregor deserves better competition than Parke, but maybe he's trying to move up slowly. Best to ride the hype train for a few fights befor he gets some top competition. It's nice to have the hype as long as you can, and it gives McGregor a chance to better himself as a fighter
