Latifi is taking the fight on a real late notice, so it's tough to see him winning, but he does have hometown advantage what little bit that does help. Mousasi I'm sure is happy that he now has a much greater shot of winning his UFC debut.

I would have preferred Mousasi just be taken off the card and putting Ryan vs. Ross as the main event.

@CONDIT729 Nah, that would've been a horrible main event. Not because it's going to suck, because it's not, but because it lacks star power.

At least now you get a star who's most likely going to KO a virtually unknown fighter who's at least a hometown fighter who the fans can root for.

They had Ross vs. George as a main event on FX. Plus its Randy Couture's son, so for a FUEL card I think that would be an decent main event.

Ross vs. Sots was the fight between 2 TUF coaches on a TUF finale event, it made sense for them to main event that card.

It won't make sense for them main event a random FUEL TV card in Sweden when none of them is Swedish or a big well known star.

Mousasi is at least a relatively known fighter and they could build him up easily with his Strikeforce footage, background, series of fights and wins.

Swick vs Burkman, Marquardt vs Palhares, Bonnar vs Pokrajac (I know it was a TUF Finale, but really?) just to name a few headliners that could have been better. I'm sure there are more, but those are the 3 that are coming to mind.

Oh Pearson definitely could. I love that guy. Great thing about MMA is that you can have smaller names put on a better fight than the big draws. I highly doubt this fight would be as bad as Mir vs Cro Cop.

You honestly think that Dana is even going to remotely acknowledge Randy after he went over to Spike to coach on the Bellator show?

Besides Mousasi is bigger than Pearson and Ryan Couture combined. Ex Strikeforce champ and Pride veteran > Won TUF and has a famous dad.

What if Mousasi loses? Then all that fame and hype turn to **** and he will probably be on the chopping block. Plus Ryan vs. Ross would be a more exciting fight on paper and you know it.

It probably would be the more exciting fight but what exactly is your point?

Swedish fans are going to care a lot more about one of their own facing Gegard Mousasi no matter how little a chance of winning he actually has than 2 fairly run of the mill lightweights.

Regardless of how the fight goes, a Swedish fighter in the main event is what will get the fans to the stadium even if they are pissed about Gus getting cut, not 2 lightweights that they don't give a **** about.

There wont be any upsets. This underdog is gonna get his ass smashed in the 1st round. Dude is no where near UFC ready, and Sweden will not be happy watching their hometown boy getting his **** pushed in before the 4 minute mark.
