If either Goldie or Rogan retire/quit from their commentating jobs at some point in the near future, of all the fighters I've seen commentating (including Bonnar, Couture, Mir, Trigg, etc.) i've been most impressed with Florian's, too bad he's a good fighter and won't retire anytime soon...

I think Florian is very good. I actually wonder how much longer he will keep fighting, and I also think Zuffa will at some point be doing more shows than Rogan and Goldberg are capable of handling. So maybe your wish will come true soon..

Randy Couture would make a very good commentator, so would Florian. Besides Stefan Bonnar, if Amir Sodollah decides to quit fighting anytime soon, he would make a very good commentator as well. Mike Swick wouldn't be too bad either.

Mir indeed. Whenever he talks hes really smooth with words. He never stutters. Even when I met him in person, he always knew what he was going to say. I recall him saying that people approach him to fight him but he talks them out of it. I enjoy hearing him commentate as well. Good to hear from someone who actually competes.

Yeah hes a great speaker... He sounds so intelligent when he talks and when hes talking about the grappling you can just tell he knows what hes talking about.. Him maybe even with Joe Rogan and Goldie could be good.

as with fighting so with commentating, all about the match up. everyone mentioned i enjoy with bonnar being the least enjoyable for me. i just dont think you can get better than bas. he has a complete game of knowledge, color and humor. goldie is a good intro man but i get suicidal when he starts to breakdown the aspects of mma. i would love to see bas added to the team and let goldie just handle the promo/intro aspects. i think it would great to see rogan and bas playing off each other but goldie would need to focus them off their tangents.

@live2wrestle, yes. That shark fight card was hilarious. They just kept subtly arguing about strikers vs wrestlers.

never liked Bas as a commentator. i think his childish and goofy. i do respect him and his knowledge.
ready for the thumbs down.
Mir does a good job. i became a bigger fan of him because of his work with the WEC.

@runrun. I've never really liked Bas because his energy has always taken me out of the fight. The other guy has good energy, but Bas's commentary has always been kinda lackluster in terms of making the fight more epic... Joe Rogan and Goldie do a good job of analysis and energy...most of the time. Obviously Goldie's comments like "he needs to get in close so he can use his reach advantage..." suck, but Joe's energy saves it
