Weidman not only won but knocked him out. Make all the excuses you want but Weidman is the man and he proved it tonight. Congrats to Weidman and I hope he's champion for a very very long time.

Strange fight, I went into the main event talking Anderson Silva up to my friend who is new to UFC only to see him get KOd...Just a strange series of events, from him letting Weidman hold the belt at the press conf, the "kiss" at weigh-ins, more showboating than usual, and then saying he wants to fight 10 more times but not for the belt...

*Edit* not taking anything away from Weidman's win or in any way thinking this fight was staged.

You can say whatever you want about Silva fooling around. Doesn't matter how he lost. He still lost.

Additionally, I'm on youtube waiting for the press conference and everyone in the chat is saying the fight was fixed. Hahaha.

If you look at the GIF of the finish, Chris completely messes up Anderson's timing by accident. He throws a weird right handed back fist instead of a left hook which Anderson mustn't have noticed and then when Anderson is expecting a right hand, Chris is perfectly set for a left hook. You could play that out 100 times and it would only happen once which it just so happened to in this very fight. ******* insanity.

Saying that someone dropping their hands played a huge part in them losing is not an excuse, it's a fact. if Weidman did the same thing then you would be saying it as well, much like anyone with common sense.

I have no problem with weidman winning the belt but the way it happened seems so cheap, **** i wanting bonnar to beat him, anderson ending his incredible streak and losing the belt like this is ****** nothing about no nut hugging soccer.

Keep telling yourself that @krull. Your boyfriend got knocked the **** out and now you're upset. Weidman won round 1. Anderson puts his hands down in most of his fights. The difference is tonight he fought someone legit.

You could see the frustration in Anderson after round 1.  Weidman won the first round and Anderson tried to take him out of his flow and got knocked out.  All there is to it.

to me Weidman got him down on that first takedown, but was an akward takedown. once silva got back up and he stuffed every attempt after that. once he did that he didn't even consider Weidman a challenge...he got knocked out because he took the clowning way too far. but I really don't believe Weidman was winning that fight if he wasn't playin around so much.....and I was really close to picking Weidman so going into the fight I thought Weidman had a real good chance to win but with the way Anderson was stuffin those td's and toying with him he was not at all concerned with him. I'd be surprised if Anderson doesn't accept the rematch and if he does I expect him to destroy him

Nah that didn't start until at least after Henderson. His ego just got too big man. He believed his own legend more than Weidman and this is what happens

congrats to weidman. not exactly a fan of his, but i really respect how he handled anderson taunting him before and during the fight (also his reaction to anderson kissing him in the weigh ins). he totally deserves to be the champion and watching the knockout still feels very surreal to me. i am a huge anderson silva fan and I always accepted that goofing around was part of his style to lure his opponents in and to get in their heads, but the way he acted tonight was simply embarrassing and is beyong comprehension. he was taunting weidman more often than actually landing a punch. really a sad thing - staying up until 7am to see your favorite fighter act like everything you would despise in any other athlete.
also i dont really want to see anderson get an instant titleshot, i think he needs to prove that he is serious and beat some top10 guy at mw or lhw.
