As he stated on Sherdog's Beatdown Radio Show, Woodley would like a crack at Rory MacDonald:

"I want to fight [Rory MacDonald]. If anything happens with Carlos Condit, God forbid, or something happens with that fight, I already told Dana White. Nobody's calling him out for a reason, because he's freaking unreal. But if you wait, you think he's going to stop getting better? In two years, this kid's probably going to be one of the best fighters in the game. I'd rather knock his butt off now like I knocked off [Tarec Saffiedine's] just before he got the Strikeforce gold. Everybody's been Tweeting about [Demian Maia]. I don't mind the fight. If he fights me the way he fought Fitch, then it's not that dangerous of a fight. He just took him down and jumped on his back. I think Demian Maia's tough. He just didn't really impress me very much. I think if you match us up, it's going to be a boring fight and we're both going to get hella flak. I would rather fight [Nick] Diaz, Rory MacDonald, Condit. I would rather fight one of those guys, to be honest. They're going to bring out the fight. They're going to make me fight harder."

I agree with Woodley on his comments of Maia but if he thinks he's going to try to steal a win over Rory he's a little delusional. I hope Condit stays healthy for T-Wood's sake!

I think he's getting a little ahead of himself here. A win over Hieron (especially in that fashion) is very impressive but I don't think it is a win that should propel him into fighting a top 5 guy.
If someone gets hurt and T Wood is the best option than so be it but I think he needs another solid win or two before he is fighting the top guys.

Hieron got screwed in the fight against Woodley, amirite bomar?

If one of the guys from the "welterweight tournament" were to get injured, I'd say put Tarec Saffiedine in there.

So if Rory gets injured he wouldn't want to step in and fight Condit? Well I can't blame him for not wanting to fight Condit, because he knows he has no chance of winning that fight.

@Condit729 I'd rip on you for kissing condits ass. But that'd be too obvious.

I wouldn't kiss his ass anyway because I don't roll like that, but I was just responding to what he said about me kissing Condit's ass to which I said i've never seen him so i've never kissed his ass.

@condit729 Woodley would probably lose to Rory or Carlos at this point in his career. The idea of wanting to fight Rory is he's predicting Rory to be one of the greatest fighters ever and he would like to try to score a win over him before Rory hits his prime.

I wouldn't mind seeing Woodley and Kampmann. I agree that he's getting a little ahead of himself calling out Rory, but he's young, has crazy potential, and has only lost to Marquardt. Hell, the way things have been going in the UFC lately I don't blame him for calling out top competition, he may get his wish.

I'm telling you, it would be more intriguing than people might think. Rory never fought wrestler. Mike Pyle is the only one on his record that has relatively good takedowns although he's not a wrestler and he took Rory down twice.

I think Rory would probably win but it would be interesting to see how his guard is if T-Wood controls him on the ground.
