If this fight goes down which I think it's only a matter of time who will win it?

I like both guys but I see Chael grinding out a decision regardless what weight this fight happens at.

Should be a nice rebound victory for Chael after the probable loss to Jones (tears).

Belfort can submit Chael, but has good enough BJJ not to get submitted.
Chael is not knocking anyone out, so if Belfort can keep it standing for a while,it's a no brainer.
It it goes on the floor, he can submit Chael
Or Chael shall grind out a decission.

Would. Be. Awesome!

Yeah rematch with Jones makes no sense imo, but Chael vs Vitor would be a good grudge match.

Vitor doesn't want to fight Sonnen he wants a Jones rematch. That would be a good FOX headliner though.

Great fight if it does happen, but will it happen at 205 or 185?

He knows he has to work his way up the LHW ranks... I dont know what's he going to do. He was so pumped after the win, his speech was out of impuls.

He's not going to get Jones again. That's the reality of it. Chael and Vitor have been going back and forth for a while now. A grudge match between Sonnen and Belfort would be worth big money. After Jones smashes Sonnen I see it happening.

@amp I would guess at a catchweight of 195.

I hope they'll do it at middle. Or if Chael wants to remain at 205, catchweight as p4pgoat said

I've always been a Belfort fan.  I also love Chael.  But if this suggested fight comes off, and I have every reason to believe it will, I see 2 losses in Vitor's next 2 fights.

He will lose to Jones, and lose BIG, and then he'll lose to Chael.  I hope it happens at LHW, Vitor's natural weight division.

In fact, I wish Vitor had never dropped down to MW.  His career should have always been at LHW.  Here is a list of guys whose careers would have always been better if they had fought at LHW, instead of MW.

Frank Shamrock, Vitor Belfort, Dan Henderson, Anderson Silva, Wanderlei Silva, Phil Baroni & Anthony Johnson.

@Gebe  How could his career have been better?  Obvious, Dr. Moriarty.

What would have been better, you tell me.

Victories over Rashad Evans, Shogun Rua, Lyoto Machida, Rampage Jackson, Phil Davis, Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz.

Or . . .

Victories over the ones he had.

Sonnen, Belfort, Leben, Bonnar, Okami, Maia, Griffin, Leites, Cote, Henderson, Franklin, Marquardt, Lutter.

If he had always fought at LHW, he still would have gotten his wins over Griffin, Henderson, Franklin, Bonnar, and Irvin.

Which career would have had the more lustrous patina?  You tell me.

The one where he is the champ for so many years I think :) Where he is on a 16 fight win streak, hold the longest reign in UFC history , this being his 7'th year.

How much better can he get?

@gebe Bill is saying the quality of fighters could have been much much better had he fought at 205. Everyone knows 185 has long been shallow and typically the weakest division in the UFC.

Anderson Silva should have been a LHW.  Obviously!

Same for all those other guys who aren't actually LHW's.   Oh, and same for Wanderlei who actually spent the prime of his career at LHW and is what he'll always be known for.  He should have been doubly-LHW.

Well for one. Anderson finished Bonnar wheares Jones couldn't. It took jones 4 rounds to stop vitor when all it took for Silva was one simple Kick. I doubt Jones can make weight without dehydrating himself. And his conditioning can also be a factor. Bottom line. Silva has already proven himself. Theres no need for him to move back up.

Yeah and Jones was 21 years old when he fought Bonnar. Jones is still only 25 and look what he's accomplished. He's not even in his prime yet. Also his quality of opponets is amazing. Everyone talks about win streaks and title defenses but WHO you beat matters.......a lot!
