Prediction: correct Cormier   wrong KO/TKO   wrong Round 2

"Mir looked really good at the weigh-ins tonight. Probably the best I've ever seen him look, but Daniel Cormier is a very dangerous wrestler with great boxing skills. The only thing that we still don't know for sure, is just how good Cormier's submission defesne really is. He hasn't been in any real submission trouble in his career thus far, and Mir is just the guy to test that submission defense.

How though?

Why ask a sarcastic rhetorical question, when you could simply say " Cormier controls where the fight goes, thus Mir won't have a chance to try and exploit submission defence that Cormier may lack"

Come on, Mir! Just looked at a poster from 2003's 10 year reunion UFC and Mir is on it. Guy has been top 10 longer than most folks have been fans.

@ AllHailKrull - IMO, Mir has one of the best submission games in the HW division. Mir breaks bones with his submissions. Is known for taking limbs home with him.

Cormier's strongest asset is his great wrestling skills, and if he opts to take Mir to the ground, then Mir is going to test Cormier's submission defense.

I don't think that Mir is going to be able to take Cormier down, but if somehow the fight hits the ground, Mir will go for submissions.

DC will most likely get some nice TDs, but Mir is no stranger to fighting from that position. At times Mir has looked terrible off his back, but against huge HWs; DC is small enough that a cut to LHW isn't laughable (as it would be with Carwin or Lesnar), Mir should be able to move him around with greater ease.

Cormier might keep this fight standing. Mir's chin is questionable now and Cormier dropped Bigfoot on the feet. Bigfoot just held his own with OverRoid on the feet so I think DC has an advantag there. I doubt he's taking any breaks in training with Cain being his main training partner.

I think Cormier will just keep it standing, maybe throw Mir on his head if he not liking the standup. However he should win the stand up. DC has a much better chin, more power and is way faster then Mir.

I see this ending up with Cormier in Mir's guard winning via "ground-and-pound." Prob ref. stoppage.

Frank looked ripped at weigh in he took this fight seriously, 22lbs over Cormier I'm taking Mir with a submission. If Frank stays standing too long it becomes Comier's fight. t.

If Frank stays standing to long? What makes you think Frank will have any choice in the matter?

At the weigh-ins, Frank came in at 257, and Dan at 235.

I remember that Frank gained a lot of weight to fight Brock Lesnar.  I guess he went and lost it.

I think Frank  actually gained weight since his last fight.  Frank gained a lot of weight after the Lesnar were he was around 264 when he fought Carwin.  He then realized that he lost his mobility shortly after that fight and lost a bunch of weight. I believe he got down to like 248 or something. Looks like he gained back some of that muscle mass (trt most likely being the cause)

I can't believe I'm saying this but, Murr looked r-i-p-p-e-d at the weigh-ins ... he's still going to get pounded for a round before he catches an arm in the second though  (yup, I'm that guy) :)
