Prediction: wrong Lombard   wrong KO/TKO   wrong Round 2

Lombard's TDD is good enough where I don't think he'll be in too much danger of losing this fight. I agree with the poster that said Okami's chin isn't as bad as people have been making it out to be, but I do think it may have deteriorated a bit. If I remember correctly, Buddy Roberts was lighting Okami up and probably would've won if he had a competent ground game/TDD. Similar things can be said about the Belcher rematch. I think the fight stay standing long enough for Lombard to catch him with something and end it.

Okami's chin is pretty strong. His only recent KO losses are to Silva (no explanation necessary) and Boetsch, who went ape**** on him out of nowhere.

^ Yeah, but the way he's been reacting to getting hit since those fights should raise some concerns. Both Roberts and Belcher had him in danger on the feet.

Kinda depends on your definition of a good chin. There are your fighters like Silva who never ever get put on ***** street and then your fighters like Alvarez, Wandy, Henderson, Edgar who will get floored, but get back up, shake it off, and turn the fight around.

Very true, but in regards to this fight, if Lombard hits him clean, he should be able to finish what Belcher and Roberts failed to do. I don't think Okami's chin is gonna be able to withstand a big shot from Lombard.

I agree with you, APH1, I'm taking Lombard by KO, but Okami will put up a fight for sure.

Belcher rocked Okami with an elbow from the bottom position as well.

I am torn on this one as much as I wanna see Okami get KO'd after two less than impressive victories over Belcher and Buddy Roberts he has this uncanny abilty to hold up fighters on the ground and in the clinch making for very boring fights.

This is a must win for Lombard to prove he can hang with the divisions best. I'm hoping he comes in super confident and motivated and this world class judo I keep hearing about (never seen a lot of his fights) is enough to stop Okami.

Just can't see how Lombard would mess this up.  I agree with cal1 that this is a must-win for Hector.  I still think his first loss in the UFC was a fluke somehow, with no disrespect at all to Tim Boetsch.  But Hector never fought that lackluster way in his life before.

If Lombard lets this fight get away from him, I'll never understand him.  He just has to win this to prove he's for real.  And I think he will.

Lombard is still really untested if he can beat Okami (which I don't think he will) then he will deserve some of the hype he has

Okami struggles against fighters who are just as strong or stronger than he is. If he isn't able to overpower them, then he won't win. Lombard won't get pushed around like Belcher did.

Lombard's best bet would be rushing in and trying to get a quick finish. The longer this fight goes the more likely Okami is going be able to muscle out a  win. I like both guys and it should be an interesting test for both.

Worked for Boetsch and Okami didn't know *** hit him. Considering the higher skill level of Lombard's striking, you got yourself a gameplan.

Boetsch also has amazing cardio which Lombard does not have at all and he kept his power into the deep third round. Lombard shown to have awful cardio and there no telling if he even have nearly the type of power he does in the first in the third.

Well yeah, that's why Lombard needs to do that in the 1st, not the 3rd.

I agree, sorry i thought u were implying he could do that in late rounds.  Thing is though Lombard could do this, but boetsch is not a good example.  Boetsch was able to do this because he was able to capitalize when Okami dropped his guard something he did not do until deep into the third round. And Boetsch unlike many fighters keeps his power through out the fight.  It going to be significantly harder for Lombard to find such a hole in Okamiu defense in the first round. Okami is very effective defensively.

@Franklin. I agree, Boetsch cardio won the Okami fight. Okami didn't expect Boetsch to be that fresh after 10 min of being dominated.

Boetsch does fight very smart, which was part of the reason he beat Lombard (I thought Lombard won), but you never see Boetsch fighting the other fighter's fight. He goes to his strong suits, which isn't always easy in MMA.
