In your dreams my friend. Struve has never displayed anything close to the level of striking as Hunt. If they have a pure striking match Hunt is going to beat the crap out of Struve.

Hunt was never a technical striker, he has always been a ''power striker'' his whole career. Struve has always shown good technical striking. He just lacked defense and the use of his long limbs (5) or so fights ago.

He has corrected ALL of those areas and is also implementing the use of his range to perfection = hunt getting that ass whooped. PERIOD

Also, I find it funny that you're underrating struves striking game. Do you know where he trains? Where he's from? Don't make me laugh

Sounds like an av bet to me.  You could both use a makeover anyway.

Hunt not simply a power puncher, though that that has proven quite successful against struve in the past aka Roy Nelson. Hunt is exteremly technical striker. He throws power shots, true but with near flawless technique. This is the same man who was beating Overreem standing. Actually in MMA, he pretty much beat anyone ass he fought-en standing. His ground game is awful though. Struve though has kick boxing experience, it was note remotely on the same level as Hunt.

Your avatar is fitting, you are both pompous pricks.

@Benjamin

How do we do an avatar bet? Are arguement is if they simply stood and bang it out. I do not deny Struve ability to win via grappling, I deny the idea that he will be picking Hunt apart on the feet.

"@curtwag yeah Struve has been KO'd a few times by heavy handed fighters. Hunt is heavy handed. However the last time Struve got knocked out was almost 2 years ago. He's improved his stand up tremendously. I could easily post gifs of Hunt getting his ass beat too. Doesn't matter much. Struve is on his way up and Hunt is trending down."

Danm I hate being right but still getting the pick wrong. Such is my luck with UFC's my heart doesnt agree with my brain when i pick.

So you were so confident in Hunt to knock Struve out you picked Struve by sub and then call me out?

Weird fight.  Hunto showed moments of defensive genius with his head movement and effortless parries, along with moments of leading with his face.  Not to mention the whole adcc Hunt thing.

I didn't think Struve would go back to dropping his hands and letting people hit him.  I was pretty sure he was past that. Guess I was wrong. We can't all be perfect like you.

Struve really disappointed me in this fight.  I've been waiting years to see him start using his reach, but he just fights like an idiot.  He's gonna be brain dead before he ever has a chance to hit his prime.  It's a real shame.  Still a fan, but damn Struve, what the ****.

He looked extremely sloppy too as well after the first round.  Not sure if he was hurt or just badly gassing.  Either way, as a big fan of Struve, it was painful to watch.  Good for Hunt.

Fight happened just as I thought. Hunt was to smart and to good for Struve. Struve tried everything, pulling gaurd, armbar along with other submission attempts. Hunt is an absolute legend and was just to good. Rocked Struve a few times, credit to Struves chin. But seriously, what a fantastic fu(king knockout.

So humble was Hunt, he didnt even bother following up. He knew his lights were out, what was fu(king Herb doing wanting it to go on. God dam Im loosing respect for Herb. I think he places wages on fights.

Well done Hunt, you didnt dissapoint. You should take Struves place in the top 10. So pumped!!!

Prediction: correct Hunt   correct KO/TKO   wrong Round 1

Hunt didn't really show any unexpected grappling. His grappling simply is very underrated and Struve's a little overrated. Hunt has been submitted by Fedor and Barnett, which is no shame, by Overeem (who likewise has an underrated grappling), Hidehiko Yoshia, who for those that don't remember, is a multiple Japan and Asian Judo Champion and an Olympic Golden Medalist. Yes, he also got submitted quick by Mousasi and McCorkle and the less said about it the better.

Struve on the other hand has submitted such grappling luminaries as Lavar Johnson and Pat Barry and before them Chase Gormley and Denis Stojnic. And while he had an important win over Stipe Miocic recently, he mostly won his striking fights by "showing heart, chin and determination", ie. getting hit a lot and coming back. In between them he got wiped out by Junior Dos Santos, Roy Nelson and Travis Browne, guys who all hit so hard and precise that coming back is next to impossible. And Hunt hits really, really hard.

Adding to that was what I thought Struve's gameplan that didn't seem to include anything outside of "pull guard, use triangle, sweep, use armbar" and when those failed, he looked a bit lost.

And another factor was that Struve has not been out of the second round since 2009 when he won a Split Decision against Paul Buentello (yes, that Paul Buentello), so when the third round came, he was almost done.

"If the enemy rejects the ground, I would take him down by tackle. Why didn’t he [Royler] do so? May I introduce him to a good coach? His tackle was... like a girl’s one... Mr. Royler, how are you feeling?" - Kazushi Sakuraba
