This was even worse than the Kampmann decision. At least he was competitive in that fight, cut Kampmann open, and had 1 takedown.

Sanchez did absolutely nothing other than throw the occasional body kick. I had it 30-27. I don't know how the judges gave him 1 round much less 2.

Gomi was robbed. Diego did nothing. Can anyone defend how Diego won, I'd love to see the fightmetric on this fight, he basically won because of his little 10 second flurry at the end.

I can't stand Diego Sanchez, and I love Takanori Gomi, but IMO it was a really tough fight to call because I didn't really see either fighter do anything that said to me, "Oh yeah........that guy clearly won the fight." Personally I saw it for Gomi. The fact that they gave it to Sanchez was neither a good or bad decision. It was just that tough of a fight to call.

If anything, I think that there should be an immediate rematch.

@jayrose777 then you may as well call any fight that's close a draw, we have scoring criteria that the judges clearly didn't follow. And if they like aggressiveness and octagon control so much, Gomi had that in spades, and was landing more than diego throughout the fight. How anyone can justify a win for Diego is beyond me, I asked earlier for an explanation of how someone could see it for Diego and so far there isn't anything.

According to fightmetric. Gomi outlanded Sanchez 81-65.

They say Sanchez had 2 takedowns, but Gomi got up seconds after.

Anyone know if Dana will give Gomi a win bonus? He stated that he thought Gomi clearly won and Dana has a history of compensating guys he feels were robbed.

I know this is going to go against what most people feel but I don't think that fight was as much of a robbery as it's being made pout to be.
I thought Diego clearly won the first, Gomi won the second and the third could of went either way but I had it scored for Sanchez.
I think Sanchez landed alot of good shots and even though Gomi was the aggressive one that doesn't always win fights in the judges eyes. I.e Henderson/Machida

I thought Gomi should have won but when you leave it in the judges hands this is what can happen

The dont leave it in the hands of the judges is such a ******* cop out though, a fighter should feel comfortable knowing that they dont necessarily need to finish. Let's face it, did anyone expect Sanchez to get KO'd or subbed? If you cant trust the judges and you must finish to make sure you dont get screwed then lets just have no time limits and the fight has to end in a finish. See how absurd that is? Someone needs to take charge and educate these judges because not only are they ******* up the outcomes to fights, they are ******* up people's careers

I agree with you 100% judging needs to be changed, but in the meantime I would do everything I could possibly do to avoid it going to the judges for this exact reason. But of course it's easy for me to sit here and say that because I'm not a fighter and I got no clue lol. It's just a shame some of these outcomes, I mean some of the split decisions are good calls and I say yeah I could see that going either way. I really don't see how Sanchez won though.

Well thank god @Justyn is not a judge. Hendo would be unbeaten, Chael Sonnen the MW GOAT and Jay freaking Hieron would be WW champ...
