I think Aldo wins this one but I don't think he will finish Edgar but I am still hoping Edgar wins the dec.

I hate to even pick here, but I have to go with Frankie. He's one of my favourites and the idea of him being a 2-division champion is intriguing.

Prediction: correct Aldo correct Decision

This is the toughest fight to pick on the 156 card Sat night, but I'm going with the champ Aldo to win a close SD victory over the very game Edgar. I see this affair going back and forth for the first 3 rounds then Aldo should take over and win by a 3=2 margin in rounds. Frankie could very well beat Aldo as well as this is his first fight @ 145 and he really could surprise Aldo with his speed and wrestling, but I'm going with the averages here and picking Aldo to win by the narrowest of margins and keep the gold. Aldo will move up to the LW division this year anyways and win or lose Sat night I see Edgar winning the belt eventually.

Yes, Aldo is not walking away with the belt. Frankie winning 2 belts is gonna be a better story line then Aldo beating Edgar. Aldo is gonna get a rematch tho, and he is gonna lose that one too. 2013 is the year of Edgar, and watch him shock the world when he finishes Aldo in the 4th round

Edgar beat Hendo in their 2nd fight, Frankie is a natural LW and if he can bang with dudes double his size, he gonna beable to bang with Aldo. My only concern is if Edgar gets hurt, will Aldo not let him recover? Probably.

I think Frankie will win in a close fight because of his cardio and movement, plus I think he has the best MMA wrestling of anyone jose has ever faced.

Frankie is going to be the best fighter Aldo has faced yet. In the UFC, he has faced two older fighters on their respective ways out of their careers, and a decently skilled/impressive young kid who wasn't ready for the challenge. He can't just dismiss Frankie Edgar so easily.

No one is dismissing Edgar. Aldo is a dominant champion. It is common sense to give the benefit of the doubt to the champ, especially one who has held the title for years.

Gray Manard was able to knock Edgar down couple times in a round, a fighter who is not known for KOing opponents. Imagine what a striker like Aldo will do to Edgar.
Edgars face is always bruised up so i dont think his boxing is that good and Aldo tdd is 2 good for Edgars wrestling + Edgar is not that dumb im sure he will think twice before taking black belt to the ground.
Edgar has never faced a fighter like Aldo and Aldo faced many wrestlers before.
All the pressure is going to Edgar, losing will send him back to the line in both weight class.

Maynard doesn't have a bunch of KO's but he's got serious power and his striking has improved immensely the last few years.

Aldo's jui-jitsu is completely unproven in an MMA fight as being elite. he had Florian mounted a few times but was unable to do anything with it. while BJ completely controlled him and choked him out.

Aldo had Florian hurt and let him off the hook.

He dropped Mendes with an uppercut and was much more reserved in his attack then when he dropped Manny with the same uppercut..

Now obviously is still more then capable of putting anyone away but he is not quite the berserker that he once was.

And the fact is, neither fighter has faced one like the other.

I'm not buying the whole BJJ BB argument ... Aldo has never shown black belt level jiu jitsu inside an MMA fight. Don't think that concerns Edgar.

Aldo have said before that he likes to strike. I dont remember Aldo taking people down and try to sub. them and he defended 52 out of 55 TD, so we barely saw him on the ground. We can all agree Nova Uniao are usually nasty on the ground( Penn,Barao,Dantas,etc)...
I dont remember the fights so detailed but youre trying to say that Aldo is more denfensive right?
its almost impossible to find fighters with identical styles. but what im trying to say is that Aldo faced many wrestlers and i dont remember Edgar fighting muay thai fighter with TDD like Aldo
