lol idk why i thought it was gonna be in Brazil. Well. Now its gonna be American fans cheering for Edgar when he wins the belt. Either way, Aldo aint winning this fight. Bank on it.

Only thing I'm a little worried about is the long layoff, everything else speaks for Aldo. If he's healthy he's winning this fight, bank on it...

coming back to this thread, thinking about the fight now, i wont be shocked if Aldo KOs him lol would be nice to see him get knocked out after getting a title shot after losing 2 title shots in a different weightclass

I don't know about this fight. I'm split 50/50. Edgar mixes striking and wrestling better than Faber and Mendes do. But he's taken a lot of damage over his past few fights and as everyone has said he's susceptible to leg kicks. If he can just force Aldo to work hard to stop the takedown, and get him down a few times for just a few seconds each time, it'd tire Aldo out, and he'd coast in later rounds. But I don't know if he can do that.

Regardless, I really like Edgar at +200. What do you all think about those odds? Particularly the people picking Aldo?

Since Edgar goes the distance a lot, the odds are not forever in his favor.

I feel Aldo comes short in later rounds. I can't shake off Hominick's last round rally and how it went. This fight is very similar to Belfort vs. Bisping. If Edgar survives rounds 1 and 2, I see him getting a competitive decision. Do I believe Edgar will land a takedown ? Absolutely. Looking forward to this superfight with much anticipation. Edgar shocks the world with a decision.

Hominick was just a bad fight for Aldo. Looks like he was sick and he had a tough weight cut. He went the distance with Florian and Faber. Handily won in each of those fights and didn't gas.

I'm tired of counting out Edgar, I don't like the guy but I count him out way too much. I'm hoping Aldo wins but I feel as though picking Edgar is the safer bet to pick.

Edgar hasn't fought anyone with such explosive striking as Aldo. I gotta go with the champ here.

Frankie Edgar might be the biggest over-achiever in the UFC.  I never thought he could beat Penn or Maynard, but he did.  He did better against Henderson than I thought he could.

But having said that, I still think he will lose a close fight to Jose Aldo.  Aldo's striking and kicks will be just too much for him.  

And after Also moves up to LW, I think Frankie Edgar will rule BW for a long time.

This will easily be the toughest fight of Aldo's career, by far.  It will be the fight of his life.  One he can easily lose.  I think Aldo will win, but he will have to fight as he's never fought before.

This is Edgar's first 145 fight so I'm not sure what to expect. Edgar has had a substantial speed advantage over all his opponents at 155. He still will have the speed advantage over most 145 (we'll see), but it won't be as huge as an advantage. Aldo is definitely faster than any title challenger Edgar has faced.

He might utilize his wrestling more that he isn't at a size disadavantage, but yeah. Definitely Aldo's most difficult opponent to date.

Everyone keeps saying Frankie will be losing his speed advantage in the fw division which for the most part is true but on the other side of that he won't be fighting guys way bigger then him anymore either. He's actually fighting in a weight class that he belongs in.

Frankie now gets to fight guys his own size.....I think 145 is about to get a new champion.

He is, the time of the brazilian is over.  Aldo gonna lose, Barao is gonna lose, and if Silva fights Weidman, he will lose.

Aldo is more skilled and more dangerous than Frankie, I think it will be a great fight, but I have no doubt that Aldo will win.

3rd Rnd KO, will caught Frankie with a knee while he shoots for a TD.

Not lose his speed advantage. Have less of a speed advantage. Edgar had a speed advantage over Maynard. A huge one actually. But Edgar's speed advantage over Aldo is probably less since Aldo is pretty quick himself.
