Since it's a slow day in the world of MMA, I thought it would be cool to talk about Tapology and ourselves.. anything at all regarding the same.  I'll get a brief start going..

I live in PA, am 30 and have been a fan of MMA since I was a teenager.  Work for the railroad and rarely ever miss an event regardless of promotion/stature.  I like Tapology b/c of the environment it fosters.  I wish we could edit/delete our posts... maybe have categories of threads for the forums, but all in all, I appreciate the type of place this is thus far.

big tragedy happened yesterday in a city from my state here in Brazil, Santa Maria (Holy Mary).
There was about 1500 people in a night club when one guy from the band broke out some form of fireworks.
sparkles got in the wall that had acoustic sponge for isolation and a fire broke out.
seems like the club only had one exit and bouncers stopped people in the beginning for them to pay for their drinks before leaving.
245 people died trampled and suffocated.
its a big college city so theres people from different parts living there.
i know about four people from there, hope no one was there.

Da fuqq? So they saw the place burning down and their first thought is to make people pay for their drinks?

That nightclub should have to pay for each and every one of those funerals. That's just grossly inhumane.

yes, the whole thing was terrible.
the club didn't have the proper paperwork to finish and the security of the place was not analyzed.
seems like it was all about the money. people died inside the bathrooms, because there was no way to leave from there, theres some horrible pictures of bodies on top of each other that i obviously wouldn't post here.
the place also had just one exit and it was in a shape that made it difficult for people to leave fast.
they recounted and now it seems that it was 232 dead and the night club had a bit less people at around a thousand.

I read about this on yahoo and it is unfortunate that hindsight is 50/50. I can't say hindsight is 20/20 because apparently there have been at least 3 or 4 of these situations since the year 2000 all due to flares/pyrotechnics.

I don't really know where else to post this, so here will work.

Does anyone else feel that the whole offer matching thing in contracts is completely ridiculous?
I mean in my opinion if the person's contract expires and they don't want to fight for the promotion anymore there shouldn't be the possibility that they will be forced to do so.

I'm watching Pride 12 again right now.

Hendo vs. Wand 1 is an incredible fight.  Anyone who hasn't seen it should check it our for sure.

Wand loves to fight.  It seems like an obvious observation but seeing him smile while he's standing over dan kicking him in the legs really brings the point home.
