I am surprised that no one has started this thread yet.

I know this is an MMA website but I bet that there are some Boxing Fans out there.

I just love the sport of fighting in general and I have been raised by boxing.

So in this Thread we can discuss the "Sweet Science"

such as
Past Fights
Upcoming Events
Favorite Fighters
and Historical Figures in the Sport

Because like MMA in the US, Boxing started out illegal. But where it took MMA less than 25 years to gain the General populations approval, It took boxing over 100 years.

Discuss and have fun.

Did Groves deserve the decision? I only caught the last round of his fight but a lot of people calling the decision controversial.

Glad to see some boxing fans in this forum!! I can't wait for the Lemieux-GGG and the Mattysse-Postol matches. I also have some interest in the Fury-Klitschko matchup but only to see if Fury can defeat Wlad.

GGG and Lemieux is going to be awesome. Many people see that "Ohh GGG is going to dominate". Well not in this case. It will be a highly action packed fight.

Same with Cotto/Canelo, can not wait for that one.

I expect GGG to get the KO in under 6 rounds. Lemuiex has some of the most explosive hands in boxing and he's great at moving forward and putting combinations together, Lemiuex is a much bigger challenge than people think simply because he isn't a household name like Ceasar Chavez (who ducked GGG), Sergio Martinez (who ducked GGG), Miguel Cotto (who ducked GGG) at this rate, Quillin and Lemieux are the only challengers GGG has left...he offered to go down to Super Welterweight to fight Floyd or Manny but they don't want none of it and he offered to fight Andre Ward at 163/164 but he won't take the fight unless it's at 168...which is funny you know...GGG was a Junior Welterweight in the Olympics and Ward was a Light Heavyweight in the Olympics....Ward moved up to 175, GGG is willing to move down to 154 if he can get the huge fights but because he wants to fight Andre Ward at 164 he's scared and ducking? Boxing politics are ******* insane. Anyways, Quillin looked bad in his return ending in a draw vs the Irishman so the hype of Quillin vs GGG has dissipated a bit.

I think Lemieux has the speed advantage and if he can get a feel for GGG early (before G times him) and he really puts his hands together we might have ourselves a war. More realistically I think Lemeiux being a bit of a wide puncher and liking to move forward aggressively...Gennady will find his timing and put him away. May the boxing God bless us with a Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin fight after this.

TONIGHT GGG VS LEMIEUX!
Should be a great night of fights, on HBO PPV.
People who might not fully follow boxing, might not realize that this fight is fully worth the price.

Lemieux is a Canadian Wrecking Machine with tremendous power and a tons of heart with non stop action.
And Gennady Golovkin is just an undefeated savage with great power and a un paralleled body attack.

Should be a great fight.

Ever how long GGG/Lemieux goes, it will be extremely entertaining. I just don't expect it to go long. I'm guessing 3 rounds, but I can see it taking up to 6. Would be very surprised (probably pleasantly so) if it went past 6.
