I am surprised that no one has started this thread yet.

I know this is an MMA website but I bet that there are some Boxing Fans out there.

I just love the sport of fighting in general and I have been raised by boxing.

So in this Thread we can discuss the "Sweet Science"

such as
Past Fights
Upcoming Events
Favorite Fighters
and Historical Figures in the Sport

Because like MMA in the US, Boxing started out illegal. But where it took MMA less than 25 years to gain the General populations approval, It took boxing over 100 years.

Discuss and have fun.

Cotto scored a knockdown with a left hook vs. Geale in the fourth. Jesus Christ. Ridiculous hook. Geale got up as if it was nothing. That was a goddamn power-hook!

So is Miguel Duckko still cowering in fear at the thought of the letter G? Or is he actually going to show a shred of dignity as a fighter and take the fight?

Former Middleweight King Sergio Martinez officially calls it a career and announced his retirement today. The 40 year old after suffering a defeat to Miguel Cotto last year says that his is done with this chapter of his life.

The Argentinian finished his career with an impressive 51-3-2 boxing record after only being in the sport in 1997 at the age of 22. His most notable victories include Julio Ceasar Chavez Jr., Kelly Pavlik, and knockout of the year against Paul Williams.

He held titles in both the light middleweight and middleweight division where he defended his middleweight title a total of 6 times.

Yet due to his age and his streak of injuries this prevented Martinez to further his amazing career.

It is my opinion that his legacy is set with the great Argentinians such as Carlos Monzon. A shoe in for the Hall of Fame when he is eligible.

Broner/Porter heading into the fifth round right now on PBC. Tons of holding and forearms to the throat on Porter courtesy of Broner. Really think he should have had a point deduction by now. I have it 3-1 for Porter, only giving Broner the second round.

Broner has gotten about.... 50 warnings of some-kind from the ref so far. The lack of point deduction is just gross.

And Broner gets a knockdown in round twelve. If Broner can survive, he should still run away with this fight on the cards.

Ward gets the TKO9 over Paul Smith. Smith didn't offer much. He landed one decent shot in the entire fight, but, for the most part, Ward cruised to that TKO.

You don't have to be logged into an account anymore to see the weigh-in amount of the fighter and their opponent on all the fighter's career record list anymore.  That alone is a bigger positive than any negatives from the new look for me so far.  I don't really like how a fighters wins by (T)KO vs. Dec. aren't even separated in Grid View though as if it's an unimportant stat.  I'll have to play with it more before I decide if I like it better or not.  I remember when Sherdog changed to X-mas colors on FightFinder and it was a shock for everyone for a little while, but it's just normal now.

You run into bugs or just don't like the way it's laid out now?

The colors are so much brighter and it makes it hard to really navigate. They moved stuff around and now each fight listed is like this big box, takes up a lot of room and again harder to navigate. It doesn't show the fighters record as the fights go only their opponents. There isn't anymore tracking fighters but I guess that will get fixed.I know i'll get used to it and things like that are weird at first but I don't think i'll end up liking it...at all.Six fights per screen is all you can see,the old way you could see half the record, everything was right there and it was the same amount of information..well more actually iirc.Just so bulky and all the new age colors and stuff just make it worse imo.
