I am surprised that no one has started this thread yet.

I know this is an MMA website but I bet that there are some Boxing Fans out there.

I just love the sport of fighting in general and I have been raised by boxing.

So in this Thread we can discuss the "Sweet Science"

such as
Past Fights
Upcoming Events
Favorite Fighters
and Historical Figures in the Sport

Because like MMA in the US, Boxing started out illegal. But where it took MMA less than 25 years to gain the General populations approval, It took boxing over 100 years.

Sadly both Saul "El Canelo" and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, are overrated, the promoters are trying to hype them up because there´s not much going on in boxing, less and less good boxers are emerging, 10 years ago El Canelo and Chavez Jr. would´ve never won a title.

anyway El Canel has much better KO Power than Chavez but he doesn´t have good technique, he brawls a lot a recieve much punishment. Chavez has better techinque but is not that great and he lacks power.

Canelo is going to win but I´m not so sure about Chavez

@zarog the fights are scheduled at the same times because the 2 big Mexican TV networks are sponsoring each fighter Televisa sponsors Saul and TV Azteca sponsors Chavez, and they are fighing for bigger ratings, that´s another reason of why they are hyping these boxers so much.

Like I said, Alvarez wins via late TKO (could be UD), but I'm Chavez Jr. gets planted on his ass pretty fast by Martinez.

@zarog, @hd nobody likes Chavez Jr. he´s just living out of hid father name, and he will be put on his ass this saturday and I´m not gonna miss it! Canelo is meh, but I´ll root for him in this fight

Canelo's not bad, he's just not that great. He's got power and he's fast, but he's got very little technique. If he fought Miguel Cotto I'm pretty sure he'd get crushed. Mayweather would make him his *****.

Yeah he´s definetly not ready for the big names, I have some faith in him (not much, but some) he´s till young and if he improves his techinque and learns patience, he can be a very good boxer, as you say, he is fast, has a good chin and packs power, but he needs to improve

On Dec. 8 it appears that Pacquiao will be having the tetralogy fight with Marquez. It is to be made official on Tuesday according to the article. Thoughts? Personally, I'm not excited because their last fight wasn't all that exciting. Frankly, Marquez may have claim to saying he beat Pacquiao, but Marquez is old and too small for the division. Just isn't getting me excited. Pacquiao's on the decline as well, which may make it even less enticing to me.

I have Sergio by TKO round 9

he is to fast and has such great foot work for him. He will out work him easy.
Sergio has faced faster (Paul Williams)
Stronger (Kelly Pavlik)
More accurate (Dzinziruk)
and much more bigger names than JCC Jr.

Chavez drops a lot of weight in really short amount of time, almost 20 lbs in 24 hours, he has slow foot movement and he has been busted on more than one occasion for steroid usage.

Sergio is just a monster.

ChavezJR is a very skilled fighter. But as people have already noted, Martinez has faced people better then Chavez everywhere. I'd actually be quite shocked if Chavez goes the distance in this fight, I see a KO win for Martinez.

Nice! Last I heard it was gonna be Bradley again. Don't know how close that was to actually happening or whether or not it was even in discussion, but I didn't even see Marquez mentioned where I read it. But I'm happy its gonna be this fight.
