I feel like if you want to be the best then you obviously need to prove you are the best, the only real way to do that is to fight! It's a shame Dan Henderson got hurt, For Chael Sonnen to step up and take a fight at such short notice, and for free, shows how dedicated he is to the UFC. Of course Jon Jones doesn't accept the fight. That doesn't sound like the dedication of a champion to me. Now UFC 151 has been cancelled, what does that mean for the fighters that were prepared and willing to take on their opponents?

I'm thinking the UFC will have compensated the fighters in some way, besides postponing their matches.  At the very least there's no way in hell that Kyle Noke or Henry Martinez should have to pay Greg Jackson a cent for the weeks of training for UFC 151.

Agreed though, for a fighter who wants to be considered the best ever, this was a dumb move.

LynxGuy- I agree with you. This was something that was out of there control,  But I'm sure you know as well as I do that Greg Jackson would expect every bit of that money for training. He is a bit of a coward and con artist himself. his constructing and his intentions are a little off if you ask me. I'm sure he had a big say in Jon Jones not taking the fight, and he is the one who coached Clay Guida and made a game plan for him to run from Gray Maynard for 5 rounds, and that's not Clay's style at all, wish he would've been the fighter is normally is and then we wouldn't have blown his chance of having a potential title shot.

I think Dana's characterization of Greg Jackson as a "sportkiller" was so ******* on the money I wrote it down in my notebook. Anyone who disagrees, well you sir just don't have the intelligence to comprehend it.

I agree with the GJ comments. He is taking the fight out of his fighters. He is designing game plans that have very little to do with actually fighting and instead saying take no risks to finish the fight, work the system and win on points.

The Guida that showed up against Maynard was an absolute joke compared to the normal Guida and it's sad to see so many fighters going along with his ********.

Greg Jackson doesn't get the point that by trying to run away in the Octagon and win based off of the judge's decision and their "oh so reliable" scoring, that he takes away his fighter's pride too. They want to get in there and put on a show for the fans and win the bout. They want to finish the fight, not out-point somebody. Then when his fighters lose by decision and do it in the fashion Guida did, they lose their chance at the title shot they work their careers for. Why would Dana throw them in the title fight if they are running away from somebody for 25 minutes rather than engaging and fighting his normal style? I know Gray Maynard is a beast and has knockout power and I love the guy, but Guida could have had a much better showing by going in there and brawling as he normally does. As for Jon Jones, I have no respect for the guy. He is a hell of a fighter and I never really liked him. He is arrogant and it's only a matter of time before he gets beat. It won't be by Belfort, unless a miracle happens, but it is gonna happen. He turns down a fight to Chael when he could have saved UFC 151 and then trashes Chael some more after that. At least Chael wants to fight and not let the fans down, and his fellow UFC fighers who were relying on their paychecks after the event! Jones is no role model in my eyes, that is for sure. If you are so ****y and confident then take the fight on short notice and show up versus Chael and shut Chael up if you want to talk about it. He didn't want to fight him because he was coming in off a loss. Well, should have been all the more reason to fight him then. If Silva beat him that quick then why would Jones be worried? Because he is nowhere near as good as Anderson and never will be. There's better excuses to use than that. He was afraid Chael might go in there as a huge underdog and possibly make him look bad. Oh well... we will see what happens and I would love to see them two fight one day down the road maybe! Or maybe Jones bump up to heavyweight and get destroyed by Cain or by JDS!

I agree and think that is truly what changed the game.
