old team Penn against one'another. I'm not sure who I want to win here.

To be honest I'd like to see Lauzon get a shot at the top of the division

I will be rooting for Lauzon, hopefully he can pull it off. Should be more exciting then maynard/guida anyway!

I dont like this match up at all. I am pretty sure Joe has come out and stated that there are certain fighters he matches up awful with and I believe Maynard topped the list. He did however say he thinks he matches up great with Edgar.

I'm a little surprised at this fight.  A big step up for Joe, and a little step down for Gray.  Being the bigger name, and one who has fought for the title, twice, Gray has more to lose than Joe.

If Joe wins, it will be a big step towards a title shot for him, while a loss will push Gray significantly down the contender ladder.  From which he will have to come back.

Gray is bigger, stronger and a better wrestler.  By the form chart, Gray should win rather easily.  But this is MMA and Joe Lauzon is very credible and no joke.  Would have preferred a tougher opponent for Gray but I do not know who is available at this moment for him to select from.

Maynard takes him down and falls into either an armbar or a triangle.

I want Joe to win and he can, but I am surprised how many people think he will win.  To be honest Joe should not remotely be the favorite, and the idea what he will sub gray when gray takes him down seems like wishful thinking. If Joe subs maynard it gunna be because he hurt him on the feet.

I was thinking this matchup could happen. Would be huge for Joe if he could pull it off, but I'll be picking Gray.

I will be rooting for Lauzon with everything I have. I hope Maynard tries to lay on him for 3 rounds and Joe breaks his arm for it. I've underestimated Lauzon before but not here. Joe's gonna take out this crybaby!

maynard by ko

Huge fan of Lauzon and his finishing style. I also like Gray and I can't see him losing this fight. He should be able to keep the fight standing and take a few safe takedowns but the end will come soon though after one of his trademark uppercuts. Just my prediction because Gray has never been submitted and Lauzon has a history of losing fights after big wins.
