http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/4/2/2087070/chael-sonnen-vs-michael-bisping-tuf-14-coaching-slots-possible

"The plan from Spike TV and UFC for the next season of Ultimate Fighter, which would air September through December, is to have Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping as coaches to build to a PPV match in December. The winner would likely be in line for the first middleweight title match of 2012."

"Neither UFC nor Spike can publicly announce this due to Sonnen not being licensed in Nevada. ... The decision, rumored for weeks, is controversial and will likely be heavily criticized if it does happen."

I know it's been suggested and rumoured before, but this makes it seem more likely. Thoughts?

I like it. Two of the most entertaining fighters in MMA, and going by the debut episode of TUF 13 and Lesnar and JDS's boringness, that can only be a good thing. I don't have strong like or dislike towards either fighter like some people do.. but I do find them both funny.

I also think that these two probably deserve a title shot the most in the UFC after Okami, so it makes sense that this will be for #1 contendership. Elsewhere in the MW division there's Munoz/Maia and Santiago/Stann. Also, I could see the Wand/Vitor fight being made, and I think Marquardt/Akiyama will be rescheduled. So yeah, I think Sonnen and Bisping deserve the shot the most. Chael was only minutes away from taking the belt, and Bisping's 3-fight win streak is the best out of any of the contenders except Okami.

This would be epic.  I can't imagine one episode without monumental ****-talking.  :)

I'd love to see these two talk crap to each other for a whole season and it is about time Bisping takes a step up in competition. No offense to Rivera but that fight was kind of a waste of time, guys like Sonnen are what he needs to see what he is made of. It will probably be an easy win for Sonnen though, this should be a great season if it happens. Sonnen could be paired up with anyone though and make it a hilarious season.

I thought it was Cruz and Faber. This would be better though.

Why is that? Because Bisping doesn't stand a chance?

Cruz and Faber were supposedly gonna be coaches, but that's not happening now, and they'll instead fight at UFC 132.

I prefer Cruz/Faber as coaches as well. Those two guys really dislike each other and i would want to see Faber lose in that competition.

I agree with @jaffacake, TUF 14 is going to be bantams and feathers.  If you're going to feature those weight classes, why not have the coaches be the biggest rivals in those divisions?  Big pub for the little guys if Faber/Cruz are the coaches.  @klown, not a Urijah fan?

nope, not a fan of his "bro" personality. not that i care but i thought it ridiculous he dislikes Cruz for not being cool. Faber seems full of himself. He seems to have overreacted to Cruz signing over his face on posters.

LOL, forgot about the autograph beef.  Yeah, I doubt that I would acutally like him personally, but I do enjoy watching him fight.  I thought he showed a ton of heart in the second Brown fight.

Thats true. He also managed to go all 5 rounds with Aldo. I was there live and got to see him get his ass kicked.

I'm not a big fan of Cruz.  The thing about him is his fighting style is the stereotype of the smaller figher, active but not damaging.  I feel he will lend credence to the idea that the lighter weight fighters can't finish.  He seems to be a decision machine in the making, very active, but no finishing power, either on the ground or standing.

I still haven't seen that card.  It's the only WEC card since 29 that I haven't seen at least once.  It's on my Amazon wish list and will be ordered soon.

Definitely must be seen. Great card from top to bottom.
