College football thread

55 days until the one of the countries best sports start. in the 2014 season we will have a 4 team playoff which is a step in the right direction. certain teams are moving to different conferences. last one is boise state has decided to leave the MWC and goto the big east conference. that will backfire on them. the travel alone will lose them a couple of games and those 12--1 seasons they enjoyed will disappear. they will never find another QB like Kellen Moore My team the Utah Utes will do very well this year. nothing less then a holiday bowl appearance vs the texas longhorns will do. it looks like US$ will start the season #1. we get them on october 4th and last years game came down to a blocked FG by the trojans. payback will be a ***** and i will be there live at Rice- Eccles stadium, 50,000 strong to watch the trojans fall from #1 and their championship hopes gone forever.

And to think, if we had self imposed last season, we wouldn't be on the outside looking in. But apparently, going to the Gator Bowl was more important. The Ohio State athletic department baffles me at times.

La Tech did something even dumber. the WAC conference which willl be no more next year in football only and had two bowl tie ins. utah state got a bowl invite and so did san jose state. la tech was offered the independence bowl(which they did not have to do) but they thought they could get better. since northern illinois got the bcs bowl bid some dominoes fell and   the independence bowl got a better team than them. there own AD screwed there football players out of a bowl game and la tech is the highest scoring team in the nation and very exciting to watch.  i hope that athletic director gets fired. the team must be really pissed off at him.

tuberville also smacked one of his assistants so another reason he bolted.

 

johnny "football" manziel won the heisman trophy and was the first freshman ever to win it. side story is he  turned down oregon to play there and instead went to texas A & M and at the beginning of the season head coach kevin sumlin did not even know if he would start until 3 days before the first game. he had over 4600 yards of offense as a dual threat qb

i said this before but marcus lattimore will forego his eligibility at south carolina and enter the nfl draft. why chance another knee injury and hopefully he does well at the combines and gets drafted high

 

35 bowl games this season. you can do 2 bowl mania's for free on espn and fox which i already did and you can win money and stuff. good luck.

 

matt barkley probably lost 20 million dollars for coming back for his senior season. usc ended 7-5 and will play ga. tech in the sun bowl and they are 6-7. thye lose to them and lane kiffin surely will be fired and barkley will drop even more. he had something  around 10 int's in his last 5 games. wait till next year usc. you lose everything on offense if robert woods goes into the draft which i think he will.

Tuberville is garbage just like Petrino. Saban is the best coach in college football but he's a snake too. Makes me respect guys like Chris Peterson of Boise and Gary Anderson of Utah St. even more.

let me Congratulate Utah State Aggies in winning their football game by 26 points and ending the season 11-2 straight up and 11-1-1 ATS. next year USU moves to the mountain west conference.  the big east's non fbs football teams but premier ncaa basketball teams voted to dissolve the big east basketball  conference and i think the big east is Kaput. i think boise state and san diego state will come back to the MWC and  make it stronger. i could see Utah State dominating cause they have the right coach, gary anderson and the right junior QB in chuckie keeton and most of the defense comes back i could see a 11 -1 season for them  and maybe a BCS berth like northern illinois. they just need a FG kicker who blew a 32 yard FG to win at wisconsin.

 

nevada wolfpack covered the spread but lost in heartbreaking fashion  vs zona by giving up 2 TD's in less than a minute at the end of the game

i did not make the contest. i did my own espn and fox  bowl mania picks a week ago and utah state was my 35 point confidence pick too. 2-0 in both and i think zona was around a 17 confidence point pick.

Yeah Utah St was pretty solid.  they have been right under the radar but worthwhile and fruitful the last few years.

This guy is straight class. Wisconsin just got a hell of a man on top of being a good football coach

i was hoping he would stick with USU and next year  would be in a better conference and 2 years left with chuckie keeton. i am being selfish of course cause i wanted him for the utes head coach job that will probably open up in one or 2 years. whittingham's choices for OC's  is making me lose faith in him. hope he likes cheese.

Anyone been watching this Duke/Cinci game? It has been great.

me and soccerkick are watching it. cincy with the long pass for the TD. great game with only 40 seconds left. baylor and ucla on now too.
