Fights begin at around 6pm eastern, and then the Facebook prelims begin at 7:30pm eastern.  Spike TV broadcast at 10:00pm eastern.  And then tape-delayed on the West Coast (so don't come around here once the main card starts, if you don't want to see spoilers.

wish nog could have kept defending the takedown but i called davis decision so its all good

This may sound hypocritical, because of what I was saying about the Johnson/Hardy fight, but Phil Davis' top game was despicable. He was on the ground with a spectacular BJJ practitioner, but still, he didn't move, he just pinned his legs down, and tried to defend subs. That's why I loved Pride, Nogueira won that fight everywhere, outside of getting taken down. (In the 10 point must scoring system, I did score this fight for Davis by the way).

unfortunately if that was meant to build up anticipation for a jones-davis showdown, it had the opposite effect.  seeing their two performances back-to-back on adjoining weekends just showed how far from jones davis really is right now.

it's crazy how two or three years ago 205 was arguably the most stacked division in the world, and now it's looking thin in terms of title contenders.

@beast i like the question.  i give it the 'up' simply because of the joe silva approach to matchmaking: winners should fight winners, and losers fight losers, as often as possible.

Yea I like Davis vs. Forrest. He could also face the winner or loser of Machida/Couture.

I want to give u a thumb up and a thumb down. He would kill both of them. However I want Shogun to fight Davis so I'll go thumbs down. 
Also, on the bright side, Nogueira's wrestling is consistently improving alot, and I think he will start winning more fights now, and he'll get back into the top 10. Davis and Jones are the only people who I would pick against him.

I think Forrest would school Davis after that performance...not what I was expecting.

How so? Nogueira is Forrest Griffin except good. Better jits, way better striking, and after all those td's he stuffed I'd say better wrestling. Forrest has no chance. Terrible jiu-jitsu compared to Nog, and absolutely no knockout power to speak of.

Shogun shouldn't fight Davis next because he has too similar a style to Jones.

I'd pick Davis over Forrest or Rich. With Forrest, he wouldn't have to worry about getting KO'd like with Nog. With Rich he'd physically dominate him.

I now think Phil would struggle with Machida, Rashad, and Rampage though.

@BeastMaster it's the next step up in competition. There's Forrest, Rich, and the Machida/Couture winner. Anyone else is either a step backwards (Bonnar, Vera), scheduled to fight and won't be ready to fight again for a long time (Rampage/Hamill, Bader/Ortiz), or potentially suspended (Thiago Silva).

Tonight was my first mma event ever I usually watched them all on tv. I had so much fun! I got good ass seats I got to meet some cool people. WOW. and anderson silva was there along with dominic cruz roy nelson. I was amazed. plus my boy korean zombie with a bad ass submission had me out of my seat. EPIC!
