He's got this undeserved reputation as a boring fighter. But then you go back and check out his fights and they are often awesome. He will rise up the lists soon, I bet.  In the meantime I'm looking at my top 10 and it definitely needs some updates.  Marlon Sandro, you're fired!  Or at least moved down into the 20's.

@Gregory completely agree that Frankie has that reputation, but when you watch his fights with Sherk and Griffin those are exciting fights...its probably because his fights end in decision and not stoppages so its thought to be boring.

Frankie's not the most exciting fighter, but he's very far from boring.  I think people just look at his record and assume because he doesn't finish many fights that he must be boring.  His fights against Penn and his last fight against Maynard were all very good fights that I can't see anyone labeling as boring.

Anyway, he's nowhere near my top 10 right now.  Awesome fighter though.

I think Edgar is overlooked a lot.  I don't think it's so much that people find him boring, but rather that, for whatever reason, they're always looking past him.  As if he isn't the current champion who defeated Penn twice.  It seems like Edgar is doomed to be perpetually disrespected, unless something major changes.  If he continues his title run past Maynard, and further, I think that kind of mentality will be forced to change.

Also, Fedor? There you go.

True story -- I saw Frankie today standing in the checkout line at a grocery store in Union Square in Manhattan. Nobody approached him or even noticed.  Then I got online a little later and discovered he was doing a UFC autograph signing at a Best Buy like 50 yards from the supermarket.  So here's a guy that has a line of UFC fans at Best Buy waiting to get his autograph, and then he walks over to the supermarket next door and not a soul recognizes him.

Somehow that kinda sums up Frankie to me, at least at this stage of his career.  He's a star, and he's a totally ordinary guy, all at the same time. That's both great, and also a shame.

Oh, and I thought the comeback performance against Gray was one of the gutsiest I'd ever seen.

I think Frankie Edgar deserves to be on top 10 lists.  Maybe not on many peoples top 10 favorites, but you cannot deny his heart, agility, and the fact that he beat BJ Penn Twice...in a row.  Unheard of, sorry.  I think if he is not on top 10 pound for pound lists, it is a mistake, plus I think it is easy to forget that Frankie could easily fight at 145lbs as well.

Props to Frankie, glad to have him in the UFC.

I have to agree that people look past Frankie.  The UFC has talent like Velasquez, Shogun, Silva, St. Pierre, Aldo, and Cruz.  People tend to rank all of them higher, and put Edgar by the wayside.  People jump on the fact that BJ is one of the best ever, but Edgar is still disregarded.  It's also a huge testament to him to be the champ in the most stacked division in the UFC.

The way Frankie came out in round 2 against Gray after that beating he took cemented him for me from then on. I saw his fight versus Griffin when I was new to MMA and the transitions alone blew me away.
