Is there any chance that it isn't this guy? With Michael McDonald currently hurt is there any other options?

the only guy Faber should get to fight is the winner of TUF

I want it to be Renan
but it wont, Mayday had the latest win with the biggest fight
and he finished it.
Barao deserves it but mayday will get it i believe.

Barao or McDonald. Either way, i see Faber getting finished. Barao by submission, or Mayday by TKO

how about....

He's coming from a 4-win streak and a 11-second KO of the night back in March, he should be ready to fight. I know -wrong weight class- but I think he could be a very competitive opponent for Faber even if he doesn't bulk up to 135, let's say 130. Both guys have lost to Cruz with these being Benavidez' only 2 losses and both by decision with one of them being FOTN.

Faber and Benavidez have never faced each other, I think they match up pretty well and it would be one hell of a war.

McDonald has a hand injury and isn't able to fight by then. I think Barao is the only reasonable opponent left and he would have a good chance of beating Faber, but a good test for both of them no doubt.

Yea, no way Joe is gonna move back up to 135 for a interim fight, when he has a title shot already at 125, has a chance to make history. Plus, they are best of friends, and also team mates lol

I think Barao is the logical choice. I realize McDonald has an injury, but I havent heard anything about how long the injury will take to heal.

Like Cesar Gracie Jiu Jitsu close (ok well not THAT close, more like Jon Fitch/Josh Koscheck close).

Joseph Benavidez was a well known wrestler around Las Cruces (small town he went to high school in) and he would fight in bars twice a week. He went to watch UFC 65 with his friend and that's when he fell in love with the sport and before leaving Sacremento, he decided to seek out Urijah Faber, who was the WEC Featherweight champion at the time and ran a gym at Sacremento. He couldn't find the gym so he decided to check out another. He killed everyone at that gym so they gave him Faber's gym location but he was too late because his flight back to Las Cruces was gonna leave that morning.

It just so happened that his flight was canceled that morning so his flight was rescheduled 3 days later. He seeked out Faber's gym and got to roll with him. Urijah told him to stop ******* around and to become serious about MMA, because he thought Joe B was that good.

So he moved to Cali, and they've been best pal since.
