After watching this past weekend's Barry/Johnson fight, it seems like Pat Barry is perhaps the first opposite Josh Koscheck.
New? Here's what I mean: since Kos' time on the first season of TUF, he was a pure wrestler (and one of the best in the game at that), but he eventually became completely dedicated to working on his striking, and not training wrestling as much. He eventually ran into GSP at UFC 74 and got outwrestled, making Kos going back to all-around training.
Now we have Pat Barry, a guy who's been training at DeathClutch and working wrestling and jiu-jitsu non-stop, after a career of being a pure striker. Barry got blasted in the stand-up by Lavar Johnson like he's never been blasted before.
So, Barry the opposite Kos?

Barry needs to cut to 205. He isnt even a gatekeeper at HW.

no way Barry makes 205, Barry just isn't that good but he WAR's. his kickboxing is overrated and his ground game sucks. how he just stood there and ate those shots made no attempt to circle off the cage just blew my mind. he had plenty of space to get out of there but just didn't. also why throw that head kick up so close he would have had better luck shooting for a power double at least get his back off the cage.
