It's amazing how some of these guys can sneak in under the  radar (at least my radar). I hear Striegl won a bit of a controversial decision over Kawanago, but he also holds a UD victory against Bae Young Kwon. Anyone have more on this guy?

Btw, I just found out Striegl will be stepping in to replace Andrew Benibe at the URCC event a week from Saturday. He will be facing Alcer Lozada, who apparently holds some BJJ medals.

Looks like a decent event, maybe we'll get a stream.

He is asian and his name is Mark?

This reminds me of that time the grandfather form the simpsons called his asian worker hung chio or something and the worker is like, "my name is greg".

He's got decent grappling but Kawanago pretty much shut him down. Terrible decision.

@Legz

Yea, I like the way Kawanago fights, definitely in my prospect file. But Streigl's still really young so he could be a guy to watch.

Even Legend FC's president said he thought Kawanago won.

Mark

Striegl's father is a native New Yorker.  Easy enough to find this out by doing a little research.  He is not a wanna be...
from the looks of it.  Sounds like a pretty good kid.

Kawanago-Streigl fight

A little research yields results...  Look at the fight pictures.  Striegl's knee was totally busted up when he fought Kawanago.  Must have injured it after a Saipan match against Giovanni Sablan (15-7) less than a month before Kawanago match.  Check Sherdog.  Striegl was (3-0); Sablan (15-7).  By the way, kid is now 10-0.  Talk about spunk.

More trivia

Striegl put 2 of his opponents to sleep.  Jewett (debut match) and Ting.  Win over Bae Young Kwon (Kwon's first loss) was only his 2nd foray into MMA.  Have to watch this guy.  As I said, a little research goes a long way.  Google &
YouTube.  Lots of info.

@juanmendez Cool story but losing is losing, regardless if he had a ****** up knee or not.
