Surprised the picks aren't more tilted towards Rousey. Nunes has the best ground game of anyone Ronda has fought, and is much better on the feet. Combine that with Ronda's questionable mentality coming into the fight, her layoff, and the fact that she trains with Edmond, and this seems like a clear cut win for Nunes.

Maybe because hardly anyone has picked this fight yet because it was just announced.

Nunes is a world beater in the first 5 minutes. I expect that to happen for this.

Going for the upset.

Ronda is a world beater in 5 minutes as well. I think her grappling is too much for Nunes, especailly if it leaves the 1st round. Ronda's gonna pressure Nunes right away. Unless Ronda's shellshook from that KO loss to Holm I think this is her's to win.

Why do you think it's so crazy? Nunes presents a completely different stylistic matchup for Rousey and her aggressive style will actually play into Rousey's TDs from the clinch.

Granted if she does land a few too many while Ronda's clinching up with her she could end her night and she's pretty good on the mat too, but Ronda's been beating these kinds of girls for ever.

Not saying that's what's going to happen, I just think that if I were setting the lines I would also have Rousey as the favourite.

Stylistic night mare. Nunes has been handled on the ground before and obviously we all know what happens to Rousey on the feet....

Whoever keeps it in their realm wins, easily.

Anyone else notice how Dana announced this fight on the Herd yet they talked mostly about McGregor.... the fuck she's still the biggest star.

I think one thing people keep mentioning that kind of shocks me mainly because everyone here seems to really be on there game when it comes to this sport is...  The mere mention of "Ronda and being gun shy/ mental preparedness"..that entire scenario... I myself am under the impression that a REAL fighter... this is going to be non existent.. Her psyche if its THAT fragile... there wouldnt be such a big force of her coming back and she wouldnt be adement about a title shot first. Seems she would clearly pick for a "warm uP' fight..so I think shes still roight where she was before... had it been Holly than "maybe" it could be a factor... And maybe it still is.. If we recall.. Ronda got on phone immediately after Holly lost to Miesha..IMMEDIATELY according to Dana..with her "looks like its time to go back to work"...so maybe in the case of Holly some of that is true.. But the reality is.. this should be the furthest thing from ANY legitimate fighters thought process at this stage in there career's..I mean there fighters ya know.. There mental game should be so much more sound that what were giving credit for or against? I guess what we will find out is wether Ronda really is a legitimate fighter or not? Cause way I see it , she has ALL the skills to make short work of Nunez... IMO Nunez is about "mid range" bantamweight... overall... Shes just not top 3 at all...

@bklettke  Good thing is I am sure you will get over it...or at least you should...

@erikjohnson.... ya I got her winning this "all day"...not much has changed.. Ronda is still the best in the UFC.... stylistically Holly beat her...and maybe Schevchenko can as well..but not any one  else in her division...

I'm just not seeing it for Nunes.

Amanda's takedown defense has gotten a lot better in recent years, but it's not enough. Ronda is a constant pressure fighter, the far superior grappler, has far superior cardio (Nunes is a 1 round fighter) and Nunes doesn't move around like Holly Holm does so she will be a more stationary target to grapple with. Those picking Nunes must think she clips Ronda coming in or Ronda failing to get it down.

I agree there are lots of question marks with Ronda, maybe that is weighing on people's picks, but the fact that she wants to get back in there and isn't giving up is a good sign none the less. It's a sign that she at least wants to challenge herself and isn't going the way of Gina Carano. And if motivated Ronda shows up I think she can beat anyone not named Cyborg.
