Fred Ettish Wiki
Fred Ettish is a Karate black belt and martial arts instructor remembered for his fight with Johnny Rhodes at the second Ultimate Fighting Championship event in 1994. Ettish, an alternate in the tournament, entered the competition after Frank Hamaker withdrew due to an arm injury. Ettish took a beating from the larger and more athletic Rhodes and lost via choke in just over three minutes.
Ettish was an internet laughingstock for many years due to his atypical appearance and poor performance.
In 2009, at the age of 53, Ettish won his first Mixed Martial Arts fight against a man half his age.
Ettish is currently managing and instructing at Damaibushi Martial Arts Academy in Kansas City, a satellite of Pat Miletich's Miletich Fighting Systems camp.
