Jan-Paul Ronge Wiki

Paul Ronge started training MMA at the age of 16 with Head coach Cedric Doyle at Street Kings MMA generating a 6 - 0 Junior amateur record at various promotions which included, Rise of the Warrior and Gauteng fighting Championship. With the closing of Street Kings MMA Paul made his Senior Amateur Debut under the banner of Rio grappling at Cage Wars 3, only 2 fights under the Rio Grappling banner 1 win, 1 loss when he took some time off from the sport to generate his own means of funding. After nearly a 2 year layoff, Paul joined his coach at his newly opened gym, Dominators Den and made his Fightstar Fighting Championship debut quickly racking up 3 first round finishes earning him the 3rd seed in the inaugural season of the reality show Searching for a Scrap, which aired on starsat television and is available on Youtube. Eliminated in the semi finals of the show having gained a small reputation as a fan favorite among Fightstar fans. Next for Paul was another 3 straight wins, which earned him a shot at the interim Fightstar Featherweight belt. Paul won the title fight at Fightstar 36 in his hometown of Secunda, which earned him the opening spot on the fight card of Brave CF 19 versus Francois Meyer, "an amateur bout to showcase the two best current amateur lightweights in SA" on the night of Brave 19 Paul lost his fight against Francois, but became the undisputed Fightstar Featherweight champ as the former champ Nkosi Ndebele made his Professional debut, therefore vacating his title.
