Jéssica Delboni Wiki

Jessica Correa Delboni is a Brazilian mixed martial artist competing in the Atomweight in Invicta Fighting Championships. Delboni was born in Vila Vehla, Espirito Santo, Brazil. She began training and competing in Taekwondo at age twelve and picked up boxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at seventeen. While living in Espirito Santo, Delboni had a hard time getting fights or finding training partners. She trained with her then girlfriend (future UFC Bantamweight Karol Rosa) and some local male fighters while attending university and working as a waitress on the weekends. Delboni's career took off when she found a manager who urged her to move to Rio de Janeiro. This new manager introduced Delboni and Rosa to Gilliard "Paraná" Fagundes, who convinced Delboni to drop out of school and train full time at Parana Vale Tudo in Niteroi. Delboni has trained at Parana Vale Tudo ever since. She is a black belt in Taekwondo and a brown belt in BJJ.

Delboni made her MMA debut in 2013, but she became significantly more active after moving to Rio de Janeiro in 2017. Delboni went 7-0 as a Strawweight on the Brazilian regional scene, with two TKO victories and five unanimous decision victories. This win streak earned Delboni a contract with Invicta FC. Delboni made her Invicta debut as an Atomweight at Invicta FC 32: Spencer vs. Sorenson on November 16, 2018. She lost to Ashley Cummins by unanimous decisions. Delboni bounced around weight classes and promotions in her next several fights, going 1-1 in Shooto Brasil and defeating Lindsey VanZandt by split decision at Invicta FC 36: Sorenson vs. Young.

Delboni would soon get settled in the Atomweight division of Invicta. On September 17, 2020, Delboni defeated Hercia Tiburcio at Invicta FC 42: Cummins vs. Zappitella by unanimous decision. Her next fight would be against reigning Invicta Atomweight Champion Alesha Zappitella at Invicta FC 44: Rodríguez vs. Torquato. Zapitella won by unanimous decision. Delboni bounced back with a win at Invicta FC Phoenix Tournament over Lindsey VanZandt, avenging her earlier loss by unanimous decision. This earned a rematch with Zappitella and another title shot at Invicta FC 45: Zappitella vs. Delboni II. Delboni defeated Zappitella and claimed the Invicta FC Atomweight Championship via unanimous decision.
