Serge Saad was a competitor on Al Academiya season 2 where he competed against 29 other fighters for a chance to fight in Desert Force Championships. He won his first fight in the Featherweight bracket against the Moroccan Karim Amraiki. In the quarter finals of the tournament Serge would face the Egyptian Osama "Manou" Ashraf. He would dominate this match and claim victory with a guillotine in the first round to move on to the semi finals.

In the semi finals of the Al Academiya tournament Serge would face the tough Iraqi Yaser "Crazy Man" Zeid. He would put Yaser in some close submissions in the first round but Yaser battled his way out. In the second round Serge would get overwhelmed with punched and the referee would have to stop it.
