Doug Sparks Wiki

Doug "Ants in the Pants" Sparks is an American mixed martial artist from Indiana. Competing mostly at Light Heavyweight he had compiled substantial winning records at both amateur and professional MMA before applying for The Ultimate Fighter: Team Edgar vs. Team Penn aka. TUF 19 in 2014. He would cause confusion by walking around with a pair of plush polar bear ears on his shaved head and telling stories about his father being an Arctic explorer and his mother being a Polar Bear and expressing his interest in psychology, sociobiology and the working of human brain in general. Both his knowledge of human brain and his polar bear ancestry would not help him as he would be eliminated from the competition before entering the house after getting submitted with a kimura by Patrick Walsh.

After losing his fight to get into the TUF house, Sparks took a hiatus from the sport he loved. On 26 December, 2014, was arrested in Bloomington, Indiana on charges of rape, criminal confinement, battery with bodily harm and assault. All charges were dismissed without prejudice on 28 May, 2015, as reported by FOX59 out of Indianapolis.
