Harley Heavner Wiki

Harley Heavner is a Mixed Martial Arts fighter born in Kansas CIty, Mo. April, 27th, 2013 Heavner participated in his first sanctioned MMA fight. He pulled guard early in the fight after displaying knowledgeable stand up and ground game, including a successful take down. Due to an injury received some 15 days before the bout Heavner had his right ankle wrapped to protect an open laceration. In pre-fight sessions he decided upon a half and half guard (left leg rubber and right leg butterfly) to further insure the ankles safety. When he pulled guard he did as aforementioned and whilst trying to gain leverage on a guillotine choke he suffered a spiral fracture in his left femur from the stress he put on it with his entire body weight. In direct impact the femur can handle close to a thousand pounds of pressure but only about 30 in a twisting motion. Heavner is to continue fighting sometime next year.
