Neilson Gomes was a competitor on the second season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2.  He defeated Felipe Olivieri via unanimous decision after two rounds in the preliminary round to get into the house.  Gomes was the third pick of Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, but he appeared troubled by a leg injury early in the competition.  By the fourth episode, it was found that Gomes had a torn ligament in his knee and could not continue in the competition.  He was replaced by Thiago Gonçalves, who had lost to Viscardi Andrade.
