Gracie Barra Black Belt

Of note: Leandro Gontijo's DQ (Gontijo refused to continue the fight) loss to Thomas Back listed on his record in 2011 was a situation where Gontijo had used his grappling to control the first round and in the 2nd at the 1:29 mark as Gontijo was in side control working his ground game, the referee inexplicably stopped the action and waved the fighters to restart standing.  Gontijo, who was winning the fight refused to restart standing and wanted to continue as he was, in side control, working for a sub or pass.  The referee then due to a language barrier or Gontijo's refusal to restart standing when he was stood up from a dominant position, waved off the fight and awarded Back the victory.
