Following the championship loss of Urijah Faber at WEC 36, the search was on for the next big thing in the WEC. At WEC 37, Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres answered the call, knocking out skilled boxer Manny Tapia in the second round to defend his title once again. After the win, Torres was considered to be in the running for one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
