Wiki
UFC 88 Wiki
After a main event fight with Shogun Rua fell through in June of 2008, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell looked to continue the momentum of his December victory over Wanderlei Silva by taking on TUF 2 winner Rashad Evans in the main event of UFC 88.
Unfortunately for Liddell and his fans, the crushing knockout Evans delivered dashed Liddell’s title hopes and had many fans, media, and even UFC President Dana White, tentatively calling for “The Iceman’s” retirement. It remains one of the UFC’s all-time greatest knockouts.
